Wow, I go off to a meeting and find so much hate and vitriol.

A few important points for those that seemed to only read the negative parts of my post and none of the positives.

A) I didn't compare it to Halo on the 360.

B) I said the graphics are top notch.

C) I stated that it has a lock on realism this gen from a physics perspective.

D) I said the graphics overall were about the same as the two current "top games" in the graphics category -- Gears 2 and MGS 4. Both are quite solid graphically and this most certainly shouldn't be interpreted as an insult. If I've compared it to MGS 4, Sony die-hards should be thrilled given how great everyone thinks it is... How is that negative?

E) I even added that it looks like a polished Call of Duty. Isn't that a compliment in saying that is is graphically better than one of the best shooters to have come out this generation? (I was specifically talking about the last two iterations, but I'm more familiar with COD4)

F) I stated "Demo AI" and "Based on the demo", and "I'm going to wait for the full game to come out and read more reviews". What part of me clearly talking about basing my impressions on the demo is hard to understand?

i dont mind you expecting so much from a FPS, you know. But what other reviews are you waiting for? I am kind of  curious. 100 isnt enough for you.

The problem is, the reviews don't seem to match up with what I've experienced in the demo.  I'm not into multiplayer so I don't care about that part.  I should have posted that in my original post.  I only care about the campaign which is what the demo models most closely.

As far as reviews I'm waiting on?  The reviews that come after the "afterglow".  Everyone is currently experiencing the afterglow from an intense orgasm, just as they did with GTAIV.  Then the general public and second tier reviewers get their copy and we get reviews from people that took time to really look at the game carefully and weren't subject to an agreement to get the game early in order to review it...

we have reviews for the demo? where?

they reviewed the GAME, for an experienced gamer, you should know 5 minute of gameplay doesnt add up to a whole game experience.

Lol, I expected more from you, Rock.  Nice try, though.

So what exactly doesn't match up?

Reviews in a nutshell:

-Best graphics on consoles
-Fantastic single player
-Fantastic multiplayer
-Fantastic physics and AI
-Terrible voice acting
-Does absolutely nothing new

You're saying that the game isn't all it's cracked up to be based on 1/600th of the 10 hour campaign (that math may or may not be accurate :P).

Agreed bro!

On a note against that... wtf? You do know what a demo is for right? It's to draw people into buying your game... if they have 5 mins to do that and they picked a shitty five minutes then that will hurt them... don't give excuses for a shitty demo.

Wow ... you speaketh the truth.

Okay, now people are saying it's worse than FEAR?

Annoying enough.

But comparing it to Haze? That is just extremely fanboyish.

@Pristine20: maybe there is another explanation, people who have been PC gamers for a lot of years maybe saw so many FPS, amongst which a minority really good, that they aren't excited anymore by any new one, unless they are really die-hard fans of the genre. While FPS is quite rarer in the PS-brand world, so if a PS1/2/3 gamer has been only a casual PC gamer in the past, or no PC gamer at all, he will welcome any new FPS good enough with the enthusiasm aroused by pleasant novelties. The same happens to Halo games.

well as a primary ps gamer, I haven't been exposed to many fps games but I have to say I have an xbox and never cared about halo yet I happen to care about this so I think it's special but I guess to each, his own.

Halo has its audience, but I don't like it too, first, as a PC gamer, I don't like gamepads, particularly for driving and aiming, and this could be fixed playing PC ports, second, its excessive macho characterization prevents me taking it seriously as it pretends to be, Master Chief always reminds me of the Village People You could argue that Doom and Quake games too suffered from excessive machismo, but they were pioneers and in their first chapters novelty and innovation far exceeded flaws, but as time went by their sequels, clones and spin-offs became repetitive, so that soon I started preferring different styles of FPS, like the older but better in all bar graphics Duke 3D or Half-Life.

Edit: (I forgot concluding) That said, KZ2 trailers look good to me and its style looks different enough from the competition, although not having a PS3 I can't say anything about the demo and gameplay, but IMHO if ported to PC, as there you can customize more the controls, so getting around what some don't like, it could do quite well.

The Valkyria demo was good? The demo I played was sub par at best. I still kept the preorder, but the demo was rather poor overall.

The battle system left me with a good impression. If I hated the battle system, I wouldn't bother with the game. That's what happened with Eternal Sonata. I hated the battle system, so I didn't bother with the game.

@pristine, I love my PS3, but I didn't like the KZ2 demo. I must be a rare breed :)

I agree kn. Killzone 2 is nothing special. I read all the impressions on the demo while I was at work, and when I downloaded it and finished it, I ROFL'ed. It felt like playing just another average shooter. It wasn't the most amazing shooter ever. The demo didn't left me with the expression of wanting more. Graphics were okay, not as great as the screenshots or videos.

The BioShock demo was amazing, and it made me want more. Fear 2 left me with a good impression, so did Skate 2 and Valkyria, but KZ2....nah.

Fear 2?  Surely you're joking right.  I play Fear 2 and I feel like it's an N64 game.  The textures are absolutely atrocious.  The gameplay is bland and boring.   Honestly,  you must not be a big shooter fan if you honestly enjoyed Fear 2's demo more than KZ2.

I just don't see how anyone could remotely have that opinion.

I'm sorry that I didn't like the "best shooter ever" demo. It was just average, imo. Nothing spectacular about it. It was just shoot and cover. I kept hearing the KZ2 demo had the most amazing graphics, but I don't see it honestly. MGS4 looks miles better. Don't tell me I have a shit TV because I own a 32' Bravia and a 40' Samsung. I liked the FEAR 2 demo. The atmosphere is great and made me jump a few times. I even got to read a cool armored vehicle. You certainly don't see that in KZ2.

You are very wise.

KillZone 2 is Sony's last chance to hoist itself out of last place. If KillZone 2 fails, then Sony is pretty much cooked for this generation so PS3 fans have a lot of stake at hyping up this game.

*facepalm*

How is he being wise by judging a demo he DIDN'T play? o.O

For this "You do know what a demo is for right?  It's to draw people into buying your game..."

In those five to ten minutes, I wasn't impressed. When it was done, it didn't make me want more. If you're going to release a demo, at least put something good there and with a decent amount of length. After playing the demo, I'm not sure if I should bother renting the game.
