Incidentally, SCE Portugal said in September that they had sold 100,000 PS3s in Portugal. PS3 had sold 700,000 in Spain in September. So Portuguese PS3 sales being 15% of Spanish sales rule of thumb I mentioned in another thread holds up pretty well.
Applying that to the 830k Spanish number would put PS3 at ~ 950k in Iberia through 2008.
Other Portuguese numbers from September:
Sony:
PS2: 850,000
PS1: 415,000
PSP: 325,000
PS3: 100,000
GfK:
Sony 82% of Home consoles
Sony 73% of Handhelds
Link
Applying those to the numbers Sony gave would put Wii and X360 at ~210k combined, and put NDS at ~120k.
Spain are keeping Sony up on the ropes

wow i didn't espect that in Portugal there were so Many PSPs because 27% of the handelds are all generation non sony portables (nintendo and sega)

| DavidValbu said: Yes, here in Spain are tons of PSP. It is because of the brand PlayStation, it is very strong here. It says that the sales of DS are a bit low beacause Nintendo announced a new model DSi that will arrive in the following months. |
The brand is quickly losing power here.
But the PSP is special: hacked firmware.
I know the brand is losing power, but it is still strong. And yes, my brother also hacked his PSP, just like everyone else in Spain.
Terrible software numbers for 360. It seem only pirates are buying xbox here.
shan - Or they're comparing 5-6 consoles to 1.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

It's kind of become the country's preferred portable multimedia player.
Tell ya, if they released a PSP replacing the overpiced sony sticks with SDHC cards, sales would jump tenfold.
