when you keep track of the number of threads there are on a certain topic... well... u really need something better to do. I said threads, but I was also thinking about the multiple people each week in the "NA SALES UP" thread that said DS is dead, or that no one is buying DS because they are waiting for the DSi...

I was getting tired of having to correct them each week.

Wow... Uncalled for personal attack? Well, I just took the number of weeks with low DS numbers (3) added 1 thread to that (1) and skimmed to see if I could find any (except for the 3). Didn't. Took me around 2 minutes to correct you. I too am getting tired of that.

 

if you consider me saying you need to find something better to do, a personal attack, well that seems a little overly sensative. I was just making a suggestion. You also seem to get kicks of trying to prove everyone wrong all the time, I really doupt you get tired of it.

Your sarcasm in your response to my post, would be considered a personal attack by what your standards seems. Again, I said nothing to warrant arrogant sarcasm, people kept saying DS was dead, and I am glad we wont be hearing that for a bit. Nothing wrong with that.

this had nothing to do with post count. I do not consider Ony an obesessive poster at all, he just seems to correct people alot. I average 6-7 post a day he averages 8 or 9, that can be done in 30 minutes unless you are writing novels.

 

 

 

I correct people when they have the wrong facts. I'm sorry if you dislike that, but I feel that a discussion is generally much more valid (and interesting) when people have the correct information.

 

And yes, I do use arrogant sarcasm a lot. I generally use it on people I believe have a well developed (read: more like mine) humouristic sense, but I see that you dislike it - so I'll quit being sarcastic in replies to your posts. Happy?

Wow... Everyone sees a nice boost from last week's then.  Surprising since nothing came out this week.    Guess people's budgets are rebounding from Christmas.

 

If that is last week, but they said they sold 250k last week, which is shipped.. umm.. wouldn't that mean, you know.. overtracking ? just asking. Because the question sure is raised if it's one of the other machines and there is the least bit of chance.

 

Perhaps i'm just oblivious to a minor detail ? or maybe one thing is region the other thing is world wide, who knows. I'm basing all my facts on this topic.

Sony are only pretending to be outsold by the Xbox 360 and the Wii. They know that the more they are beaten into a bloody pulp by their competition the more impressive and spectacular their comeback will be when they finally cut the price to $200 and sail past their confused and helpless competition. If you've watched anime before, this will make perfect sense to you.

 

 

Yes... don't you know every PS3 has a giant demon fox in it... soon it'll unleash it's true power

360 doing pretty amazing imho considering 40% or better of those sales are still the $300 system.

Nintendo is actually the hardest company to understand. Back in the day (strongly rumored with many reports of this) Nintendo used to force stores to report whenever they sold a Nintendo product. So they new exactly how many units were sold and when. Now, it is quite possible, that Nintendo never stopped doing that. I happen to believe that it is true, since you don't need to provide a receipt to get a unit fixed under warranty.

So it is quite possible, that Nintendo actually is talking sold to consumers for the US. Take into account Canada, Mexico, and the fact that Nintendo is slightly rounding, and the numbers are spot on.

EDIT: note that if it is a financial statement, it will always be sold to retail, but if it is just Iwata speaking, then it COULD be either. As another note, Reggie has said before "I know my numbers" when refering to how accurate VGChartz is. This could imply that Nintendo still requires all sales reported to them.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I'm sure they all know... the only odd ones out are ma and pa store, but most of their sales are at retail places like Walmart and EB.  These stores have tracking systems and I'm sure they report data back to companies.  This also gives them some input in what's going on... they can pressure for price cuts and what not.

no, If I try to represent something false as truth you should correct me. But my issue in this instance was I made a subjective comment, about not having to hear about DS demand fallout and you corrected that.

It is really hard to disprove a subjective comment. Although you do seem to be OCD about correcting people, I think that actually is a good thing. But can get overbaring. We need people to point of incorrect facts, so we can know the truth. I guess in this instance I went back to what you said to Smokesaugage a while back, and it was similiar, so it bothered me.

I don't feel I correct people a lot... Maybe it's just you (I know I correct SmokedHostage a lot, but that was more as an internal joke) I do it with.

 

Also, disproving subjective stuff is generally pretty easy... There were only 4 threads about DS underperforming (but let's not get further on that).
