Well I sent my Wii off about a wiik (pa dum pish, no one laughs) and a half ago from Georgia to Washington where the repair center is apparently, anyway I had the error where my Wii would no longer read dual layer discs AKA Brawl (as there is yet to bemore dual layer games) I got my Wii back in Jan of 07 so way out of warrenty but Nintendo still covers this issue for free, free shipping through Fed Ex and everything, they said shipping to a PO Box like mine would take longer to get back to me so it probably could have been back in a week.

I get my Wii back today and to my surprise they not only replaced the whole disc drive but my faceplate that my friend had messed up cause he dropped my Wii on cement (though the damage was nothing but a dent in the faceplate yet they still replaced it)

I hooked it up a few minutes ago and everything is actually running better then the first day I got it, the Wii has always been pretty silent when running but now I can't even hear it when I get up close so overall my hassle was nil, all I had to do is fill out an online form (no calling which I love cause I hate talking on the phone), they gave me a barcode for the free shipping to printout online, I shipped it, and it was back in a little over a week.  Fast, Fresh,and Friendly just how I like it :D

Well i have to say that's one of the best experiences I have heard from a game system breaking. 1up nintendo in my book.

Yeah I was surprised, I dreaded sending it in especially since my Wii still worked just couldn't read Brawl, but I got it over with and it was very painless.

I did this last week,too, but I'm sorry, I don't think this experience warrants its own thread. My Wii runs really smooth as well. Nintendo did a great job.

Hey I'm excited so first thing I thought was "make a thread!" haha, first thing I did when I got it back was play some much needed Brawl

Edit: plus there's been so many "my experiences getting my 360/PS3 repaired" and so rare that a Wii has a thread like this it would be a good one especially since the customer service was amazing.

I understand. I wasn't expecting to get my Wii so quickly, and when I did, I was really, really, happy. My Wii couldn't read any discs except WaW, but they still fixed it for free. I'm still happy about the service :)

Whoa only CoD: WaW?  That's rather odd, I mean why would it be able to read one disc (a third party game at that) but not anything else, that's REALLY odd.  Maybe your Wii got blood thirsty and only wanted to fight Nazi's.

Yeah, I thought it strange as well. It didn't read it instantly, but took a few tries. When it did, though, I could play WaW. I had no such luck with any of my other games no matter how many times I cleaned and put the games in. I just sent my Wii in with the excuse that it couldn't read Brawl...which was true. It worked!
