Mass Effect 2, YEAH BABY!!!

Looking for the specs, but i'm sure my PC can handle it...

LoL,a Pc gamer...you know the Pc version will be out in 2010 while the 360 version will be out before Xmass 2009?

Hope you do,because at E3 2009 in June they will proudly say it`s exclusive to the 360 so their holiday lineup should be great.

But what happens if your Pc  can`t handle the game? a 199$ upgrade for your Pc? video/cpu/mobo? a better deal is a Jasper 360,but you haven`t heared it from me. A Vista upgrade for Alan Wake? priceless

Both versions will only come out in 2010...

A $200 upgrade is still a better deal than an Xbox 360. PC games are cheaper and no online fees, you will get your money back with the upgrade and then some.

This maybe one of the casualties of EA scaling down their PS3 production. More than likely EA would like to bring this game to the PS3 but the cost of the port may not justify the end.

In talking about big titles for EA's next fiscal year, CEO John Riccitiello dropped hints about the future of the epic space-themed RPG franchise Mass Effect.

"[In Q4], BioWare will release Mass Effect 2 on multiple platforms," he said during a Tuesday earnings call.
...
Riccitiello did not specifically mention the PS3 in his statement, but the nature of EA as a multiplatform third-party publisher would suggest that "multiple platforms" would include Sony's machine in the equation.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Whether or not the ME2 comes to PS3 hinges on what kind of deal MS made with Bioware before they were purchased by EA. If MS had an exclusivity deal in place before hand, EA would be able to release any ME titles on PS3. I don't think that is the case because if it were, I'd think EA would have released ME1 on PS3 by now.

If the MS's contract only covered the ME1, MS published Mass Effect and paid for its development, then ME2 and ME3 could appear on PS3. If that is the case, it puzzles me why there has been on announcement thus far.

Honestly I think some sort of deal was struck. What it means for a PS3 versions of ME2 and ME3 I don't know. EA doesn't make exclusives. Yet, they had to concede something to MS for the PC publishing rights to ME1. Since their has been no exclusives titles released by EA on the 360, you have to wonder what EA gave up to get those rights.

Pretty ambiguous. This could be something like, "Pay up, Microsoft, or your pretty little 'console exclusive' gets it!"

For those of you who said it would make no sense to put a sequel on a console that never saw the first may I point you towards

Tekken and Devil May Cry, Saint's Row

Its kind of funny to see the tables turn I mean I am almost certain that PS3 fans were sick and tired of hearing MGS4 on 360 rumors and now that its Mass Effect 2 on PS3! 360 fans seem to be getting a little agitated.

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I guess it is no more or less ambiguous than the original post claiming it is PC/360 exclusive.  I would take the CEO's word over the PR department's word every time.  If it is coming to the PS3, I think they would announce it at GDC or E3.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

It wouldn't really make sense for the sequel to go to a system that doesn't have the original. It's one big story unfolding.

Then it wouldn't make sence for 360 owners to get Final Fantasy, the 360 doesn't have the originals like the PS1 and PS2 do, why should they get 13?

You'd have a point if the Playstation 3 could play the 'originals'. Also, the 'originals' are on Nintendo systems. Not Playstation systems, so your point is kinda bunk there too.

That is true.  Also, each Final Fantasy story I believe is a reboot of the back story.  They are all not connected.  Well, some elements get recycled, but not characters.  This is why FFVII was able to jump to the Playstation console, and people have very different opinions of each game in the series.

My point was that it sounds like it's up in the air. We already know that it's multiplatform, since a PC version has already been confirmed. The ball might be in Microsoft's court to make a hat out of moneys.
