Forums - Nintendo - Can't make up my mind. Which Club Nintendo item to get?

Just so you know, the hanafuda cards are pretty small.

They're still pretty nifty though.

Just registered all my products. But why can't I take the surveys? Nintendo's site am fail right about now.

I say go with the game.

I mean, none will probably keep your attention for too long but i think the game has the best ability to stick around.

Ok, I have 890 Club Nintendo points (and another 50 come march) and I can't make up my mind. Hopefully someone can convince me on what to get. Currently I'm most interested in (no particular order)

  • Game & Watch Collection
    • Unique game that can only be obtained through the Club Nintendo rewards, but it only has 3 games, and I don't know if it will hold my interest at all. (the japanese versions are listed for ~$40 on e-bay)
  • Hanafuda Cards
    • They look really cool, but I don't know how to play and what it is like. Is it fun?
  • Nintendo DS game card and DS stylus set
    • I have a case that holds 6 games and 1 stylus. This one is a lot bigger and wouldn't fit in my pocket, but it does hold 9 games.

someone make up my mind please.

The Game & Watch Collection was a major disappointment for me (although in retrospect, I'm not sure why I was expecting anything more). But, I was lucky to find a used-games shop willing to buy it from me for an excellent price. Still, not recommended.

Hanafuda cards might be kinda nice, I suppose. Certainly they would be a novelty if you live in a culture where the game is not normally played. Game history and rules are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanafuda

I have the DS card and stylus set. It is the same size as a DS game box, so yes generally too large too carry around. It sits on my shelf with my DS game boxes. Not a bad item, but since I keep it on the same shelf as my games anyway, I've stopped using it and just keep the games in their original boxes.

I recommend you wait for something better, or get the hanafuda cards if you are desparate for something now.

Come on... what is that ? The cards are for kid. Trust me : Go with the game

I would get the 600 point game case now, save the rest of the points and then buy the DS Lite case later.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Yes, they are small, but I believe that is (or is close to) the standard size for hanafuda cards. (I've never actually held these particular cards, but hanafuda cards are small, and the ones shown in the video look about the right size.)
I do agree that they look pretty nifty.

FYI: Hanafuda is not a kids game (although kids certainly can play it).

the Game & Watch collection has a whopping 3 games on it.

You are better off finding an e-Reader on eBay and get some G&W card for it.

I'd say wait and see what else they put up. I personally am waiting for some better Wii stuff since I don't have a DS
