It would be cool if Capcom made a PLAYABLE version of PN03, the last one was damn near thumb homicide, I think I caused some serious damage from playing that game to my thumb and the joints near by.
That chick was cool anyway, I loved the style of the game, albeit a very short game.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:
To go straight to your original question zleep. Punchout and Sin and Punishment are confirmed to come to the states in 09. And they're both going to be some big hits. We also think we'll be looking at a new Pikmin. But your right, we still don't have any idea what Nintendo is working on.
Although we do know that the guys who made Excite Truck are working on something else, possibly a sequel, and it might be just about ready.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
I want Star Fox Wii! I also want to try the F-Zero series, I would love to try one on the Wii. I absolutely love racing games on the Wii.
Its early in the year. Seriously some people are just way too impatient.
what many people forget is that Wii Fit, Wii Play, Mario Kart will keep selling millions in 2009, plus Animal Crossing, and Wii Music will have good legs, the new play on wii games will make it to a million each probably, the new sports resorts will outsell all the games in the wii series
also, Punch out, Sin & Punishment 2, Endless Ocean 2, maybe Pikmin 3 , and we don't know if they have secret releases, maybe the new Zelda?? new game of the Wii series?? Mario & Sonic?? Mario Galaxy 2?? Mario Party??
and adding more third party support will make it up to outsell the 2008 total sofware sales!

While those all might be good games, unless they get extrordinarily good reviews and a lot of promotion are not going to be big hitters, especially not on the order of Wii Fit or SSBB.
I honestly think it is a poor strategy as far as core gamers are concerned. Sure it can lead to frustration, but that does quickly give way to disinterest. The result as time goes by is that the console and its library seep into the background. Not a consideration for casual gamers. Who are basically looking for small fixes, or a family gaming device. However it is crippling for core gamers who see nothing, and go look elsewhere.
I am not a huge fan of what the Wii has had to offer thus far. I expected to see more of my favorite core franchises. Mario Galaxy may be a fine game, but I never get my value from platforming games so its always a poor investment for me at full price. I also had my fill of Smash Brothers years ago, and well I have two versions of Mariokart. I was really hoping that the Wii version would resolve my lingering gripes, but that was apparently not to be. Mind you I want a dozen battle modes, and very tight controls. Not a knock just not what I wanted.
Here is hoping that Nintendo can bring those other time tested franchises forward. Titles such as Pilotwings, Starfox, WaveRace, and I would love to see a return of Mario RPG, and Star Tropics. Those could definitely get my dusting off my Wii. Those were some seriously addicting games.
I hope to see a more core oriented Wii this year if for no other reason then it livens up the conversation, but I have serious reservations. I am a little too confident that it will be another peripheral mini game collection, or worse something like Music.
Why only push all works to Nintendo?I already said at E3'08 that they'll let 3rd parties show off what they able to make on Wii to consumer.
And now we're seeing many good game coming from them.(Plus many game that already released like Fragile ,Samba De Amigo ,De Blob ,Shaun White etc. etc.)
This year we gonna see good game released ,like Madworld ,Little's King Story ,Monster Hunter 3 ,Tenchu 4 ,TMNT ,HOtD etc. etc.
Big year or not i don't know ,but 3rd parties' flowers will bloom this year. :)
The biggest sellers from 2008 namely Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii will keep selling all year long. Wii Play will continue to sell big numbers. Wii Music will continue to have legs and at least double or triple it's sales. Games such as Call of Duty, Shaun White and De Blob will continue to have legs as will the casual orientated games released last year.
This year the Play on Wii releases will do well as they sell to both previous owners interested in Wii controls or advanced features and also to people who never owned a GameCube.
EA will be spending the same budget as they use on Madden to market EA Sports Active so expect to see that game fly off the shelves in America. You'll also see continued innovation in the All Play series with the first batch of All Play games to use Wii MotionPlus.
Another potential hit is Need for Speed: Nitro, the NFS game built from the ground up for the Wii platform capturing the 'cheekiness of Nintendo' with a look that is distinctive to NFS. It will be the arcady NFS that made the older ones great and may end up beating NFS: Shift in sales due to competition from certain other race sims...
From Ubisoft we'll have the casual fare but we'll also have potentially massive games in Red Steel 2 and TMNT: Smash Up. It's only January and we also know that HAWX is in the works for Wii to be released in March so look for other Ubisoft suprises all year such as another Rayman title and perhaps some more core orientated efforts
Activision will bring a few top notch games to Wii too through out the year.. In particular look for Guitar Hero: Metalica and Guitar Hero 5 to ignite the sales charts as will the new IP in DJ Hero. Also look for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to sell a considerable amount more than World at War on Wii. Again look for Activision to reveal more through the year.
Take 2 will continue to bring their biggest titles to Wii and also expand their sports range with MotionPlus. Most of their software sales this year will be on DS as the GTA sales juggernaut continues, unless they announce another big game later in the year.
Sega will rock the house with massive support in House of the Dead: Overkill, Madworld, Sonic and the Black Knight and The Conduit. That's a huge showing and that's only the first half of the year... We may also see Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics for the holidays which would continue the huge sales of the original.
Crapcom will supply the Wii with a watered down port of Dead Rising that tries to be RE4 and fails but will probably garner good sales. We'll also see Spyborgs which has the possibility of being a very good quality game as well as the high possibility of another Resident Evil title.
The biggest game from Capcom sales wise will be Monster Hunter 3 - and it will be a monster in itself. This will be a system seller in Japan and is guaranteed to be at least a platinum seller if it ends up being a shit game (not likely)
Konami may throw Wii owners a supprise but most likely it'll be PES that hold up the fort for them
Square will give Wii owners a Nintendo exclusive Final Fantasy which will sell nicely in Japan
That leaves us with Nintendo.. (I'm too lazy to continue with third parties :P)
- Play on Wii as stated above
- Wii Sports Resort
- PunchOut!!
- Pikmin 3
- Wii series game
Most likely
- Mario Party 9
- Mario SPORTS game
- one of F-Zero/Starfox/Excite Truck/Kirby Wii
I'd also throw in KI as a possibility as well as Eternal Darkness 2 but who knows..
In conclusion we don't know much about the line up for Wii from first or third parties but I think that software sales will easily beat 2008
