Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo's Big Hitters for 2009 and a comparison.

I did check, Mario Strikers at almsot 2 million, Metroid prime 3 at 1.5 and still selling and Mario Super Sluggers at 1.4 million shipped by Nintendo as of January 1 2009 without an European release.

LMAO! I feel bad for the op. =( It looks like no one cares to read what he wrote...

On the op: I truly think Zelda is coming out Q4, I also have a feeling that Disaster, and Fatal Frame will come out too. not really "Big Hit" but a good jab. I think like Punch-Out they are gonna reach back and get a few old IP's and make them new. PilotWing, Starfox maybe...I don't know why but I think Project H.A.M.M.E.R. may come out too...New ip's FTW!!!

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

I'd say Punch Out, Madworld, The Conduit, Dead Rising Chop til U drop

I don't have a wii, just goin off what i've heard. Punch Out could be a huge Software seller I think

You failed pretty hard considering he's talking about Nintendo published games.

@Snesboy: Its ok to speculate on third party releases as well, as I have misunderstood Iwatas comment, I thought he was talking about 1st party games when he said a bigger SW showing.

Metroid Prime 3 has been at around 1.4 million for a long time now. The 2 million boat has sailed save for a re-release as a best of Wii. Especially with the far superior Metroid Prime coming out with Wii controls. Also, Mario Super Sluggers shipped 1.21 million as of January 1, 2009. Mario Strikers is based around a game that is much much much more popular in Europe and still hasn't cracked 2 million (but will eventually). Fact checking is your friend, and mine.

The Wii has a lot of great JRPGs on the way.... in Japan. I will be pretty upset if those titles don't eventually make it over here to the US.

Okay. I get it.

Gnizmo: The Metroid Prime GC re-releases will boost sales for the 3rd part especially for those who never played the first ones and werent gonna buy the 3rd first. And you said it, when the Players Choice arrives for the Wii, sales will go up.

Oh and you are right about Mario Super Sluggers, my bad. I thought I rememberd correctly, but the shipped number is 1.21 million. Still great, considering the game was only out for 4 months and even without an European release.

Well, for the casuals there will be Wii Sports Resort.

For the hardcore, there will be the Conduit.

For the ultra hardcore, there will be Madworld (yuck!).

Given that most casuals haven't owned a GC the previous gen, new play control games might draw them in as to them, they are new games. Especially Pikmin.
