Sorry, but I refuse to admit that a game with every possible advantage, and an assload of hype turning out to get good reviews as a "comeback" or anything else other than what any reasonable person could expect. That's not triumphant, that is not cause for bragging.

I'll give my two cents here.

For three long years, the 360 fanboys bashed this game at every opportunity. Guerilla sucks, Killzone sucked, the gameplay sucks, the AI sucks, that's just a PlayStation magazine, they were moneyhatted, ...

That "..." represents there being no valid arguments left. Like I mentioned in another thread, I don't think any game this gen has gotten more hate than Killzone 2. Maybe MGS4, but that gets inhuman amounts of love as well.

Are you serious no game gets as much hate as Halo 3 despite it getting great reviews, selling great, having amazing legs and constantly being one of the most played games on xbox live. Fanboys will bash anything and to use that as your argument for Killzone 2 being a comeback story then you have a very weak argument.

Halo 3 didn't get a tenth of the hate of Killzone 2.

not to mention people played halo 3 before hating it and had 2 other installments so one could already guess the games story and gameplay. the devs would be stupid to have changed the game since they had a working stragety unlike killzone who had a lot of room for improvement and didnt have sony behind them during the first game

@perpride

oh yeah I remember after LAIR failed

Warhawk turned out to be good.....then uncharted came

Warhawk did kind of start the good games for the PS3

Sigh.

And then Haze came and the haters had a field day, got renewed confidence, and began proclaiming that all upcoming PS3 exclusives were going to flop.

Another comment I remember is somebody saying inFamous would be delayed to 2010, "because Sony always delays games", and so he refused to put it in the PS3 2009 lineup.

Lol.

wow i still cant believe what im reading in this thread. oh well

I certainly hope killzone doesn't have a budget as halo 3 concidering its sales potential is far less.

^both around 30 million but halo3 ad campaign was probablly just as expensive so halo3 with ad included will probablly cost more

@ CGI-Quality

It was just a response to Max King of the Wild. Nothing more.

Am I the only one that thinks 2005 trailer looks kinda crappy compared to actual game. Can't wait for it. Still sad for no split-screen though.

While the original KZ2 trailer in 2005 lacked the sheer amount of particle and parts flying all over effects that Motorstorm 2005 showed, it did have HUGE drawing distances that was VERY impressive to me.  We were talking large drawing distance with LOTS of detail.  And then thrown in the VERY complex explosions they had going on with different things blowing up and texture detail, and it was impressive.

If you take away that and look at KZ2 now, it looks great, but misses the state of inducing awe from my perspective.

I am also of the believe people are overestimating the importance of KZ2 to the universe by a WIDE margin.

Mainly the 360 fans. I've never heard a PS3 fan say Killzone 2 will save anything, just the 360 fans insist we do say it.

What is this importance you speak of, most people are just REALLY excited to play the game, nothing more.

Oh, stuff that was in the original post of a recent thread on here called, "Killzone 2: The Comeback Kid" and others like it, where KZ2 is made out to be something that is the second coming or something.  Individuals who do fake TV spots that were supposed to be for KZ2 and would be on during the Superbow.  And others who throw it in a list saying how it is going to be a major reason for the PS3 to suddenly get a monster boost in sales.

Examples of the making out the importance too much, you find comments like:

to PEOPLE on vg chartz who keep on asking "WHY DO SONY FANBOYS HYPE KILLZONE 2"

This imo is your true answer.....it is your own fault for saying bad things about the game like "hahahahaha SONY just show CGI not the real thing" "hahahaha its so gray who cares bout grfx" "hahahahahaha killzone 1 was crap, guerilla is crap, killzone 2 will be crap"

To get THIS defensive about the game, and feel the need to call it a "Comeback Kid".  It is one thing to say a game looks GREAT, and deserves great reviews.  It is another to take up a sniping position that start taking shots, and holding out a title like it is the end all and be all for defense of the Playstation 3.  One can also end up being on the other end and feel threatened by KZ2, and feel the need to irrationally bash it.  Also, one has to wonder if the post ratio is in line with the importance of KZ2.  There is a LOT of posts on it.

The word "save" isn't used.  However, "Just wait until Killzone 2 comes out, then the tables will turn" type comment ends up being the Playstation fanboy's chant here.   There is a need to also feel that Killzone 2 has to outsell COD: World at War on the PS3, for it to be a success.

Look, for example, at the recent Superbowl ad for KZ2 thread, that went on for pages over a 58 second video, that was spun to be Sony's actually ad they would run during the Superbowl.  Someone actually produced their own TV spot for Sony, as if it would run.  Things like that are overestimating the significance of something in the universe.  That spot overestimated how much the world cares about Helghasts.
