I never cared for Quake 3(Q1/2 were much better), and I was always a UT2004 man myself. Those clips were good. Bio rifle kills ftw. They focused a lot on rocket kills.

You know how hard it is to nail people mid-air with a rocket? It's far more impressive than just a hit-scan hit or two.

Yep, with a modicum of luck.  I have done my fair share of mid air rocket kills.  Especially as a soldier in TF.

TF is alos about half as fast as UT if not more so. and most classes die in 1 rocket.

The only thing speed has to do with mid air rocket kills is in how much you would lead.  Which requires  no more skill.

it's not just the leading, there's a higher chance that the target will switch directions. The more you are leading the target the more the target has a chance to change directions and completely screw up your shot. Also second jump and wall jumps in UT2004 really add to that.

Edit: It also means you are leading farther away while the person falls faster, thus you have a lot less time to get your shot straight than if you had to lead less.

Just had to go play a round of Nightmare bots Q3DM17 after that.
A bit rusty with the rail gun, but the RL skills are intact.

Hence the higher dose of luck necessary.  Unless you are a mind reader.  Launch and pray.

Just practice, people do similar things in similar split-second decisions so you learn to shoot where they will move to. Boy do I love those surprise shock combos.

All I have to say is, I better not see you enter the shock rifle elevator or shield tunnel on Albatross.
