It doesn't look real to be honest. And if so thats really weird because i thought that all superbowl adds could only be exactly 30 seconds or 60 seconds and 52 isn't right.

For an unknown series like Killzone, you need to grab the viewer's interest first and then show him what the game looks like. Also, it isn't 30 seconds long and doesn't look at all like the usual Super Bowl ads. |
Well, not all superbowl video's have to be 30 secs long you know.

That was made for last year, and it was 1:02 long. But I agree with you, the Killzone commercial doesn't grab my attetion, only at the end when the guy is shooting bullets slowly makes me say "Wow". Graphics also I guess gets my attention, but the music I don't like.
If this commercial will be replayed at least like 3 times, it should grab at least 100,000 more people to get the game that never heard of it.
This might be a commercial during the pre-game show. It says "Enjoy the game." Usually people say that before you start watching the game.
hmm well if that long will cost 5 million probably at least for 1 showing during the superbowl.
but after watching it I found it to be really dumb commercial. but maybe you hardcore people thought it was cool. It didn't make me want to buy it though. i think that old halo 3 one was a cooler commercial

I know you're joking around but all football fans =/= red necks As a matter of fact. Arizona fans and Pittsburgh fans are neither in the redneck catagory.
Either way, this is a rumour, don't get all your hopes up. I doubt they would show this on the superbowl. This Superbowl is slated to have one of the lower rating (in terms of superbowls) but cost the most for advertisements. |
i beg to differ, i think this year is going to be one of the higher ratings. must noteably because of the arizona underdog cinderalla story facing the giant seemingly unstoppable steelers.

It would be wise for Sony to do a KZ2 ad during the Superbowl (I believe they still have a few slots available, or had them a few days ago). However, this ad doesn't feel "professional" as you stated. It does feel that it has a fanboy making over it, in that they are so carried away with the graphics, they think that if they just show the graphics, the world will fall down in awe and feel they MUST have it. Classic case of believing your own hype. Considering how the Wii is selling, the world isn't into having the MOST AWESOME GRAPHIC EVER. And the puns. Those puns are groan inducing. Does the world care that there are now 4 dead Helghasts and it is "fourth down"?
52 seconds long is just plain odd, and doesn't seem right either.
Sony needs to up the efforts beyond this. HOWEVER, as a fan effort, the production value is good.
KZ2 is shaping up to be a GREAT effort by Sony, based on all the reports. However, the world doesn't need, nor does it care about Killzone 2. That is how it is. I would say Sony should do an ad closer to what you saw with MGS4 in the states than this effort. Maybe this effort is a rough draft at it.
By the way, why would Sony leak out NOW what it would be showing during the Superbowl? Shouldn't it keep it under wraps and have everyone who has a PS3 watch for it during the Superbowl?
Ok, maybe I am wrong, but I don't think this ad will be running during the Superbowl.

If that is true, they should follow up with something else during the game.
It could be just me, but I actually enjoyed that trailer. I thought it was pretty cool. "Sudden death means u die suddenly" I LOL'd HARD!

Pittsburg and Arizona are not major markets. Also, the Cinderella story or supposed juggernaut Steelers doesn't match Giants against Patriots at all. Not sure how many people actually care. For a football fan it is interesting, but just doesn't match last year, which was the Perfect Team against the Road Warriors. That game had the Double Miracle (Eli to Tyree catch) and went down to the closing seconds, thus keeping the ratings up.
As a football fan, I will be watching, but trying to do a party thing with it so it is more than the game.
