Forums - Sales - Japan first day sales - Tales of World 2 (PSP) vs. FF: EOT (DS, Wii), WE

Ouch at FF:EoT. It bombed on both systems. 25% total sellthrough on the Wii and DS for first-day won't make Square very happy.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

PSP software really sells well in Japan, shame it doesnt anywhere else, but well done.

Echoes of time, DS version did decent so did Wii version which is practically identical to the DS. I really did not expect more from that game.

Wow, I didn't expect the ECHOES OF TIME game to sell that low; does this mean that CRYSTAL BEARERS is going to be canceled after all?

The wii version I believe deserves these sales (I will never understand why the ported it) , but still the wii version will be atleast 30k first week and that is more than fragile.

Ace - How do you think that an RPG will have those kinds of legs for first week?

25k tops for FF:EoT if first day numbers are to be believed.

Your right, but this is final fantasy....once people start noticing the name they might buy it. (Also I wasn't really looking at the number for a long time....I thought it was late teens when I wrote my statement)

Crystal Bearers is a big game, that has been in development for long time and have gained attention from most of Wii fans. Echoes of Time sold as expected, not very impressive why would a Wii owner by a game that looks and play identically as the DS version (with DS being much more popular in Japan). I think the trailer was the only reason that this title was ported to the Wii.

Crystal Bearers will be released and it will be a success with at least 1.5 milion copies sold.

I would say 1 million World Wide....Crystal Chronicles has never been a reallly sucessful brand.

No. If anything, Final Fantasy has the opposite effect.

I don't think I've ever seen an RPG have a 2x multiplier on the weekend. It can easily be done with most other genres, but RPGs usually increase by 50-70% after their first day - which, given the 14k number, is still well below the 30k prediction. That'd put FF:EoT doing anywhere from 21k to 24k.

So it'll still come for the Wii, eh?  Square-Enix won't port it to PS3 or XBox360?  (Sorry, I'm just panicking.)

Ya I think I am still asleep when I was making that statement, It most likely will rest in the low 20s....also my last statement is incorrect as well....gamecube crystal chronicles sold 1.3 million.

(never go to forums if you just woke up....)
