Forums - Nintendo - BBC: Nintendo has no real rivals

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7857474.stm

"One bright spot for the industry is Nintendo.

Its Wii Console and DS handheld device have no real rivals and unconventional games billed as improving fitness or mental agility have wide appeal."

Lies. Wii and DS are a fad. It's only a matter of time before sales start to falter.

Same with Pokemon for that matter.

By life end:

  • Wii- 100 million+
  • Xbox360- 35~40 million
  • PS3- 30 million
  • PSP- 30~32 million ------------- FAILURE
  • NDS- 85~90 million (Skeptical)  - FAILURE
  • NDS- 100 million+ (Optimistic) -- Success!

No, Sony has no real rivals and there really in first place according to Kaz. Their difficult programming proves it.

OMg wat a nub lol u ps360 fanboy lol just lol! go bak to ur hole.

It's always nice when the news takes the time to report such obvious things to everyone. If only they would tell me where I put my keys every morning when I wake up, then I would never need to think for myself. =D

EDIT: Whoa, didn't read the link until right after I posted, this is about the PS3! I see... so there was more to it than just the fact that Nintendo is kicking ass. :P

I love the BBC by the way.

Heh, someone gets it

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This is the first generation in which we've seen three console manufacturers, but none of them is competing with the others.

It's like video games are being run by communists!

Insert Mario=communist meme here.

As far Pokemon goes, the series has sold at LEAST 10 million with each entry and it's 10 going 11 years old.

This is not to say that the same will happen to the Wii and DS but they're as much fads as any other console.  Basically, people will enjoy them for 5 to 10 years and they will die and be replaced with new consoles.

Pixel Art can be fun.

But isn't a game like pokemon essentially identical between itterations besides a minor story rewrite?

Tease.
