Forums - Sony - First big Killzone 2 reviews go live tomorrow

From Eurogamer....I expect a 7/10. A lot of people still cling to KZ1, and now that KZ2 is looking MORE than promising, they'd like nothing more than to see it fail. Now with Eurogamer at the forefrunt, I wholly expect them to score it lower than everyone else has so far...I mean, they gave MGS4 an 8/10

People, it's Eurogamer, they probably want the world know how KZ2 is a mediocre FPS that doesn't desserve the hype it's getting. A bad review will give them an increase of trafic and will please their xbox fanbase. I bet they will give it a 7.

Did you read their latest hands-on based on the review code?  It seemed very positive, especially the part about AI, and they included just about as much info as they could without breaking the NDA:

We already know how "positive" previews from big sites like Gamespot turn into mediocre reviews in the end. It's like the preview GT gave to KZ2, when you see it it sounds positive, but when you know that most of the games (and all PS3 games) that got previews from GT ended up with mediocre to bad scores, then you don't see them as positively.

Most previews are based on unfinished games, allowing journalists to assume (really, hope) that any problems will be fixed before release.

They knew when making that preview that the game was 99% complete, yet they still gave a glowing report.

If eurogamer gives KZ2 a good score, we're pretty sure the game will be well received around the globe! We'll know the truth tomorrow, kinda exciting!

Cool! I can't wait. I'd be happy with an 85% or higher.

Eurogamer probably won't score KZ2 past an 8/10. They have some deals with MS, and at the same time, they don't want to look foolish to their readers. 8/10 will be enough to deem the game "not worthy of dumping your X360 for a PS3", which will make MS happy, and it will make fans think "well, they are tough, but I still trust them".

80%. I'm callin it. 85 tops.  It probably deserves a score in the low 90s, just like MGS4 did, IMO (which they also scored 8/10).

Their 9/10 scores for R2 and LBP, Sony's two biggest holiday releases, beg to differ.  The R2 score is 3% above the average.

I

would actually like to see some evidence of that aftervall Eurogamer  is a well respected site imo.
