Kingdom Hearts isn't very fun but it has Disney characters. FFVSXIII may not be very fun but the characters design and world seem much better than FFXIII.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

WTF ?! X-2 was SHIT compared to original Kingdom Hearts. And while we're on it, Kingdom Hearts I was way better than II. All you did in II was button mash to infinity and story was just... stupid. |
While the X-2 vs KH1 is certainly arguable, it's undeniable that more people think that KH2 was better than KH1 than viceversa (check metacritic, or even this site's KH2 wall), so don't act as if my belief is crazy.
And no, the story in KH2 was great, it had good characters and a well conceived plot. Not the best ever, for sure, but certainly not stupid. And while challenge wasn't one of KH2's strenghts, the gameplay was pretty fun. One of the best PS2 games without a doubt

I'm sorry, but it was more convulted and filled with more stupid points and loopholes than MGS2.
To add to the discussion:
| Hyper PlayStation asked the staff why they decided to announce Versus as a part of Final Fantasy XIII and not as a brand new Final Fantasy XIV. The concept and thinking behind Versus would not be possible in a standard numbered Final Fantasy title, Nomura responded. However, Kitase jumped in, assuring that Versus is not just a side-story, as it has some of what makes a numbered FF game what it is. However, he added, "With Versus, we are trying out a type of adventure that we couldn't do in the numbered series." |

What I get from that is that Versus would have been a main-series game if not for the fact that it was more experimental for the series. SE probably doesn't want to do another FFXII and create dissent in parts of their fanbase. What I think they're trying to say is that other than the name, the more experimental direction, and the similarity of the world, FF Versus XIII is basically FF XIV, and they will treat it accordingly.

A game that also has an awesome, brillantly told plot (though a bit hard to follow, I concede).
Seriously, loopholes? When I finished KH2, I never felt that there was anything missing or poorly told. Sure, you may not have liked the overall theme, but where did you find there was anything wrong? I'm interested to know that

It was more so that the whole last level was so completely random and out of sync from the rest of the game. Watching the end, I felt akward just watching it.

Well that goes for the entirety of KH and it just gets even worse with all the spinoffs/prequels/whatever added into the mix, and it has to somehow stay relevant to preconceived Disney worlds and plotlines while also accomodating the random appearances fo FF characters. I'm surprised that it held together this long and hasn't drawn more criticism.
On the subject of KH2 vs. KH1, KH2 is the clear winner. The only problem I really had with KH2 was that it was too easy and the platforming was seemingly killed off. In KH1 it felt like you were actually exploring the environments, KH2 felt more like moving room to room and killing eveything, which wasn't a bad thing since they improved the bttle system over KH1's clunky version.a

I think KH 2's gameplay is much better than the first, but I feel the story was much worse.
