Overall, Squaresoft.

Recently, Atlus by far.

Currently playing:

Squaresoft and Atlus tie for first. Level 5 is second and S-E is third.

Squaresoft was pure gold. Square-Enix is ok.

Square - SOFT is the shiznit >: ), Square-enix is still pretty awesome, but you can tell enix's suck is rubbing off on them ;/ I mean wtf is up with Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery... I remember when a square game was practically flawless in it's execution. It was one of the few companies out there that BEGGED you to find a technical flaw, seamless through and through.

Level 5 is pretty good. Dark Cloud and Rouge Galaxy are badass :D.

Atlas is make or break, generally on the break side for me though. Some of they're games are just too weird and play just a bit too generic for my taste. And I really don't like generic all that much in my JRPG's. I can repeat sci-fi generic all the time for my shooters... but man... rpg's it's a killer.

Which is why I just don't like Enix... all there stuff feels so cliche ;/ Dragon Quest to me is the most generic series eeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeerrrrrrr.

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

When it comes to publishing, Atlus are definitely hit or miss but when they actually develop games, there is a pretty good chance of a good game coming from them.

Formally Sonic! Software Planning. They were responsible for All of the Shining games on Sega consoles, before they got seduced by Nintendo and then made the Golden Sun series and now do bitch work for Nintendo making sports games.

squaresoft hands down

How did Camelot, Nippon Ichi and Intelligent Systems not get a place on the list?

Anyways I go for Nippon Ichi. Between their publishing and development efforts, they are just awesome and have a very distinct style of deep gameplay with countless options, and humorous tongue in cheek storylines.

Atlus is a very close second though.

I love Squaresoft more for the times they ventured out of JRPGs than when they were doing them. I just find their JRPG offerings do be very vanilla in general. Vagrant Story is an exception though.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

The old SquareSoft...

Square-Enix?? not so much as of the last couple of years.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Squaresoft always!

Square-Enix is but a shadow of the greatness of the original company, the recent game quality shows that and FFXIII is looking to be pretty meh... (and i never thought i would say that!)
