Yes I do.   Cause if they can cut the price,  I would imagine one of the factors of them doing that was the increase in manufacturing speed.   But my 35 million is also basing the price vut to comethee 1st half of the year not the 2nd half.

That is not a question of willingness, that is a problem of how much you are willing to deviate from your business plan. Sony's own numbers for next fiscal year has just been adjusted to:

10 mio PS3

15 mio PSP

8 mio PS2

so their business plan is set for manufacturing 10 mio units (given the way world economy is heading, that's a pretty bold plan to sell the same number of units and pretty much iimplies a considerable price drop sometimes this year to achieve these numbers).

If they release a GT5 bundle with price drop in the summer we could be looking at 15m+ in sales this year. Otherwise I predict the trend to continue as usual with perhaps just a gradual increase but nothing significant.

Marketing is the key! Microsofts price-cut didn't come out quietly, it came with a storm of media. Two adds for every add break when I was watching tv!!!

if there is a $100 price cut i believe the impact would be massive and we will finally see the ps3 doing what people expected it to do. if the price stays the same then sales will start to get lower as there are less and less people willing to buy the console at its current price. if sony do cut price big time worldwide and manage to release massive games like GT5, FF and god of war, then 35 million by the end of 2009 wont be too hard and is realistic i think.

So regardless of the games that are coming out in '09 you predict the Ps3 sales to go down no matter what? Taking a wild guess here, you don't own a ps3?
