@Riachu Xseed is my most likely publisher to bring over. I think even more so than Namco. They are smart so they would probably give it a good VA. It's not really hard just don't make the characters sound so emotionless and use cliched writing(symphonia anyone?)

Cliched writing?  In a game with a truly unique story(basic set up is typical but execution...not so much) like Fragile's?

The japanese doesn't seem cliched at all, but usually when a company tries to translate something quickly they will right down the anything anything that means the same thing and the writing then comes out as cliched.

What would be considered cliched writing anyway?  I'm always confused by that.

When the characters use language that is overused.  It is easily recognized when you know what the character is going to say before they even say it.

That seems impossible to avoid though.  Are you sure it wasn't the fault of the Japanese writers?

Well most games are cliched in one way or another. Alot of the time though the translation makes  it worse. Alot of the main characters in rpgs  have similar dialogue, similar atitude, and sometimes similar appearance. Now that doesn't mean it is any worse just that after a while you get bored of the same thing over and over again. Most every character roots off from the same concepts. The thing that makes them differentiate is how the writing is used to give that character a personality and their own way to speak. Most of the time in the Japanase version this is perfected, but if the translation is quick and lazy you get dialogue that would be the same as another quick and lazy translation. Not only that alot of the voice actors speak with no emotion or overexaggerated emotion giving even less of a personality. That is what they have to look for when localizing it. I can't really tell about fragile since I'm fairly new to Japanese and don't really know if the dialogue in it is used alot or not in other media.

I do hope for a localization of this game, and I hope it'll be a good one. It certainly can't be any worse than Baten Kaitos. (I did enjoy the localization VO work for Symphonia I and DotNW, BTW; the voices were fitting and the acting was very solid throughout.) But I can only wonder how the game itself will be.

You're missing the ending theme. D:
