Halo 3= Superb multiplayer, second to none.

Halo 2= Again good multiplayer, decent offline

Halo 1= Superb offline

Halo overall as a franchise......... LEGENDARY.

halo 2 saved LIVE from failure

Halo 3 raised the bar for accessable, addicting, and deep multiplayer.

SOme may disagree but from a sci-fi perspective, the story is top-notch, especially if you factor in the 6 well crafted novels.

Ok here is what the Halo series revolutionized:

It made FPS the most popular by far genre of game.

It has the hands down absolute best online matchmaking.

It revolutionized the melee attack.

It brought regen health to the forefront. (think no more picking up health packs)

It also brought WELL BALANCED vehicles to online play.

Well that is the kind of post I was expecting. Fair enough.

Guess I'll have to try the games on online multiplayer one day.

Still for me, everything Halo brought Gears did better (except vehicles). But that's just my opinion.

Halo CE was epic from the music to the graphics and gameplay
Plus the story was intriguing
Halo 2 was good on campaign but great online
Now halo 3 is the best online on a console (CoD4 also) ever
Plus it has a good story and satisfying conclusion (but terrible last "boss" battle)
Overall Halo brought FPS to consoles with a very well balanced story to gameplay

Halo and Gears aren't remotely similar, and are part of different genres, so I don't see where that comment is coming from. Let's also not forget Gears 2 has horribly broken online mode and Gears 1's (I don't think 2 has melee stun) broken melee system.

I hate Halo. Movement's way too slow.
