Sounds interesting, good luck with this.
So far, I've created the first menu where you pick your company. I've listed 3 fake companies, since I'm probably not allowed to use real names.
I have Joby, Macrohard, and Playtenda.
From there I will have a console creation menu where you can name your creation and add features. It will probably be pretty basic; where I have 5 or 6 different attributes, and then you can add up to 5 points or whatever to those attributes.
you can add as many as you want (up to 5 points per attribute), but it will adversely affect the cost of manufacturing the console. You can set the price your console to whatever you want, however.
As far as the audience is concerned, I've come up with a couple different types of fans: Action, RPG, Platforming, etc. etc. Certain Fans will like certain features of a console, i.e. Simulation Fans will want hardcore graphics, whereas FPS fans might want more Online Features. Each audience will have a certain amount of "loyalty" to a brand name, and will also have a certain amount of wealth; hardcore RPG fans are more likely to buy more RPG games as opposed to Sports or Party Game fans who only tend to buy the latest version of Madden or whatever once a year.

If you're going to be serious about this and do want other people to help or even just to give you ideas I suggest you make an external forum. Invision generally seems to be the best one to use.

well I might make a prototype game with just one working thing as a concept. Then I might solicit other people for doing like actual programming and stuff

Sounds good, I want to help out with ideas since I have no programming skills at all.
I can recommend everyone to play the game from Raths post (Gamebiz 2). By playing it we can discover some good and bad things for the game.
I have a big question, will the game be based on real life consoles and games (like Gamebiz) or completely fictional? I'd go with real history, adjusted if needed.
I'm looking forward to hearing more.
I actually really liked the idea you presented in your OP, which completely blew me off guard. Most of these things never come to fruition, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if this one did!
