Forums - Nintendo - Is it me, or most people who don't really care for the Wii...

I hate the FFCC:CB trailer, because I love the game so much but hate that I don't own it, played it, beat it, repeating it, memoriezed it and have put it into my storage.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Gamers who don't like Wii generally:

1) Grew up with 3D games.

2) Are males between ages 10 and 25.

3) Like you said, stick to one or two Western genres.

4) Aren't attracted to new or weird games.

Strange little games always attract me, Parappa the Rappa, Mario Paint, the first Sim City, etc. Nintendo has them in spades this gen, both on DS and Wii.

I do own a wii and think all but about ten games are pure garbage.

I'm 30, grew up with atari and NES, like a million genres (check my gamertag), and I love wierd games.

may not fit your ridiculous generalisation.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I dont see it as hardcore gamers having an issue with the Wii.... I see it as HD gamers, do. PC gamers are among the "hardest" core, and they seem to be more open to the Wii.... I think it is just that the Wii success scares 360/PS3 fanboys. And since the number #1 genre on both consoles right now (more so on the 360) is FPS games.... that is why it seems like mainly FPS gamers trashing.

Also typically FPS gamers are graphics whores, again another reason for the Wii to not appeal to them.

Who said anything about "hardcore" gamers? :O Pc gamers don't have a problem with wii since it is not really competing for the same games as pc. There are a lot of pc-gamers who whine about "games being dumbed down" because of the consoles. Why should PS360 fans be scared of wii's succes? You know, if there were some interesting games on wii we could just go and buy one. Since there aren't enough interesting games... oh well. :)

I'd point you in the direction of XBLA or PSN for weird and innovative games. They certainly outnumber the amount of decent quirky games on the Wii threefold.

weird and unique games  on Wii >>>>> better than weird games on traditional controllers...

try imagining Zack and Wiki on a traditional controller.... lame x2

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

You're just making a weak generalization on gaming tastes @Soriku,there are many RPG lovers that have only a HD system, but not because a fan's crazy disease or an inner hidden rage against Nintendo,is just for the different opinions and appeal to every genre and the gaming options for each system.

I feel more atraccted to wait for play WKC and FFXIII & FFXIII VS than playing a Tales game for Wii,the HD systems could offer a different and a deeper experience mainly because the produce value, better graphics and sound.
The same goes for almost other gaming genres so this kind of stereotype is dull.

putting a : ) at the end does not change the fact you are trolling.

Also, you just admit (whether or not you realize it) that HD gamers are worried about losing games to the Wii, but then denied it later in the post.

We are already seeing devs shifting resources and games from HD development to the Wii. It will only snowball from here. Be afraid...

Whoa, that game is going to be amazing.

I think I've changed my mind.... Wii for RPG console of 09.

For me personally no It doesn't work for me. I can say I'am an extremely flexible gamer.  I love almost all genres excluding sports and to an extent puzzlers like tetris and music games.

I play JRPGs and I play WRPGs, I apperciate games like Shin Megami Tensai, I had mario paint back in the day ( i loved fly swatting in that game. )  and some titles like Zack and Wiki on wii I like. Wii sports? ill pass. Wii music? no thanks. Wii Fit? ....leave it be. Mario? Sick of em. Shovelware? pleeease don't make me laugh. Nothing interest me on the system except monster hunter tri, Klonoa, and Zelda. And to me it's extremely upsetting that these games are not all they could be. I shit a brick the day Tri was announced for wii.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

Bingo Soriku. I love WRPGs and FPSs and I hate any kind of anime so you hit the nail on the head for me.

Soriku said:

...are mainly Western gamers that play FPS/WRPGs most of the time? I can understand they say that...as the Wii doesn't have many quality Western games, while the HD consoles do. At the same time, the HD consoles don't have many games I want because most of them are Western games (quite a few good Japanese 360 games though, but there's some good Western Wii games, but the Wii doesn't have the bulk of them and the 360 won't have the bulk of Japanese games like RPGs I want) and I mainly play JRPGs.

Now, if you're a big Japanese game fan and say that, you're just being dumb and ignorant. But I can see where certain people come from when it comes to Western games,

If this were right, then those same people would have issues with the DS, but they don't. Most people here love it and it's more of a JRPG and general japanese gaming machine than the Wii can ever hope to be. Think of a different reason, because this one doesn't hold much weight.
