You're including arcade games right? What about braid?

As funny as this is, I'm not including Arcade games. I wanted to make this as unbiased as possible so no one could come in here putting this in a negative light. A lot of people don't think they should count, so I'm giving them their own section later and everyone will see which console has more exclusives in that area also. What I've done is to use fair criteria, but all of which cannot realistically be disputed. XBLA has always been known as a huge 360 advantage but retail games have not for some reason. This is correcting that misconception.

Something tells me you wouldn't have made this thread in this particular way if it favoured the PS3 , but you can cling on to the impartiality card if you want.

He's taking a well-versed 'belief' expressed by a majority of posters and turned it on its head.  You wouldn't post a thread if your findings proves common perception as fact.

intresting that there isn't no true exclusives found on the system.

Well it's true , this thread is a direct response to the 360/PC multiplatform issue . Onyx is trying to convince everyone/himself that the 360 has a large quantity of exclusive games.

All i'm saying is that we wouldn't have seen this thread had it not favour the 360 , threads like this have been done before so I don't see how this will contribute anything new to the on going debate.

Does this mean the 360 has more incentive for a purchase through sheer quanity ? Maybe
Does this mean the 360 > PS3 in exclusives ? Certainly not
Will this thread convince anyone other wise ? Hell No.

It's like you're missing the entire point.

It reminds me of a thread I made a while ago and the conclusion of the thread remains the same. PC/360 games are an augment but certainly not the centre of the entire argument that the Xbox 360 independantly has an awesome games library. I've played so many games and yet im still finding cool games to play.

Thank you Onyxmeth I think the clarity in this thread is better than my own one I made a while ago.

I think this is a nice friendly thread, its an invitation to people to come check out the console. So if you're thinking about going PS3/360 or Wii/360 or even PS/Wii/360 you should consider it. There are some awesome games from last generation which are available cheap on Virtual Console too like Jade Empire etc and with the 60GB premiums available they can really be taken advantage of.

Tease.

Pretty much what I would expect from a console released with no competition a year beforehand.

Many of the lower-quality games are early releases, it seems (where just about every title was an exclusive). That makes sense, IMO.  Graphs showing quality and quantity of releases over time would be very cool  (say a "release" lasts for 1 full year, and the graph shows the sum of exclusives that are "shelf worthy" at any one time).

last renmant is multiplatform.

If I give you $60 can you go to Target and buy me the PS3 or PC version? If not then it's exclusive. Exclusive means available on one platform right? That's what I heard. When Last Remnant no longer is exclusive, it will leave the list.

@Barozi

Can you get me a link on that? I heard SIREN had a retail disc for PAL territories. I'll switch it to the PSN list if it's not true. Destroy All Humans will be removed when another version comes out. Hour of Victory is coming off.

I like the way you think sir. That's where one of my bullet points come in. I'll be dividing them up by years to show trends soon. That way we can know how much is attributed simply to the year of seperation and how much it's continuing.

@Onyx

You forgot Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty. It has been released at retail in Europe.

Also, I can't believe Naruto: The Broken Bond is rated higher than Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm.

If we take 80% to be games worthy of purchase, then after 1 year extra on the market the 360 only has 3 more exclusives worth purchasing. Thats not exactly great.

No competition? It had serious competition from the PS2. Furthermore the reason why the PS3 is picking up good games at a faster rate is largely due to the fact that the Xbox 360 paved the way for these multi-platform games before it was released.
