Forums - Microsoft - Does the 360 have any real exclusives?

See this is exactly what I mean. Why would I buy a 360 for Dead Rising when I'll be able to play its superior sequel on my PS3?

I second this sentiment.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

Because that's like saying 'Why would I buy Final Fantasy VI when I can just get Final Fantasy VII?' they're totally different games, but in the same franchise. This isn't Madden that we're talking about.

Last I checked, Dead Rising was a phenominal game, and has recieved high praises. It's great if the PS3 gets it the sequel too, but at the same time, you'll never get to play the game that made it. This argument could be lobbied for many of the great franchises: such as Resident Evil, Halo, Mario, Zelda, Twisted Metal, and so on. Sure, the 2nd one should (and I hope) be better, but that doesn't negate the fact that Dead Rising 1 was/is still a great standalone and is still exclusive to one console.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Well there could be a couple of reasons.

1. The sequel could be very, very bad. People that bought into Devil May Cry 2(another Capcom sequel not made by it's original team) had the shock of a lifetime when they saw that they purchased a massive turd of a sequel.

2. The sequel could be different enough to warrant both games a buy. Who knows where it's going to take place? A hotel maybe? A town?  As long as it isn't the same location again, I can see a reason there for owning the first if you end up liking the sequel. Maybe the story will be a continuous of the first making the first not essential to play but better to get a good understanding of the story in the second. It's not like this is a yearly sports edition with a few new features and a roster change. Not all games become redundant when their sequel comes out. I'm not sure what kind of gamer you are, but I have actually bought more than one entry in a series. Maybe you're just more of a one entry kind of guy though.

3. In my personal opinion, don't get either. I don't think the game is all it's cracked up to be.

@Onyxmeth, it's because you have an unnatural hate for original I.P going by your gamer-card.

Tease.

Bah! You do have a point though. Man I've been playing nothing but sequels lately.

Killzone 2 should brighten your day, its actually a fresh enough experience and since its nothing like the first game its practically a new I.P!

I can't wait. Street Fighter IV first though buddy! Also you need more Gamerscore. That number is paltry. Oh and we need to get on some head-to-head Carcassonne.

Hows the Maw by the way?

The Maw is kinda average IMO. Its a fantastic concept, however the gameplay so far from my first foray into the game leaves me feeling a little irrelevant. I would say definately try the demo, the game IS very nice looking its just the gameplay seems to lack focus and direction.

I need to:

1. Get my Live sorted, you may have noticed me logging on and off like crazy.

2. Buy a Gold membership. You know the Xbox 360 is evil, at first it was only for exclusives, then it was most multi-plats too and now im buying a Live subscription.

But once thats done i'll be glad to give you a game! I think the AI really has it in for the human player, its like they help each other JUST to prevent you from winning.

Fantastic article Onyxmeth!!!
This really does put the "lack of 360 exclusives" rubbish to rest.....

Oh noes why play Dead Rising, when I can wait for Dead Rising 2 ????

Yeah right why would I play Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, when I can just wait for the "superior" sequel.......

Sounds intelligent eh ? Yeah.

Oh wait ! Actually it doesn't.....
