Forums - Sales - Does all Europe discount like the UK?

Naum said:
well well guess it's time to use amazon UK :)

Definitely, not only for buying games but also for consoles.

Right now at Amazon UK you can get consoles for:

Wii: 190 €

360: 130 / 170 / 220 €

PS3: 290 €

See, a PS3 at Amazon UK is almost as cheap as a Wii in the rest of Europe.

Even when you add shipping, it's still great savings. I wonder if UK console/software prices will increase if this keeps going for a long time, Sony especially must be bleeding a lot of money in UK sales. 290 € is $330 before tax.

Same in Austria. PS360 games tend to begin with 70€. Wii games cost about 45€, some are cheaper, some are more expensive (Spider Man: Web of Shadows, Call of Duty: World at War, Lego Indiana Jones for 60€ for example).

A friend of mine (PS3 owner) and myself are going to import games from the UK. Sometimes games are more than 50% cheaper if you compare the prices. That is crazy!

I agree with Barozi.

its because we in the uk are poor and cannot afford full priced goods, some of us can't afford discounted stuff either

Normal prices in Germany. Wii games EUR 45- 50 and PS360 EUR 60-70. Actually as a german you can save some money ordering games in the UK.

Apparently there will be a bounce back where the prices rise higher than they were originally, so get ordering.

(not that I have any knowledge on the subject, just heard it on radio 1 and a few other places)

Also not in the Netherlands.

CoD4 is still frigging €70 at most places. Can find it for €50 if you look hard. Same for GTA4 and many others.

Then there's a lot of games for €40. Bought GRID this weekend for that price. The only cheap ones are crappy games like Harry Potter.

The Classics are €30 usually.

Wii games is the same. Most titles are at their initial price or €10 less. I should start importing UK games.

I picked up Prince of Persia and Mirror's Edge for £40. My parents picked me up LBP for £20 before Xmas.

Games go down in price fast.

I started importing years ago, though price wasn't the issue then with the exchange rates, it was just the long wait.

I still don't have a PAL console, though I have bought local games for the region free ones.

Where I live, the prices on the PS3 and 360 games always seems to be discounted on some stores. if the game is exclusive for PS3, it never seem to be, I think the PS3 price is really 100NOK(Norwegian kroner) more expsnsive then the 360 counter part, since the exclusive games are always 100NOK more expensive then when its multi plat. Normaly a exclusive game, in shops, go for about 600-700NOK for the PS3, the 360 games go for 500-600NOK, but looking at online shops a game never go higher then 499NOK, witht he exception for exclusive PS3 games. That go for 599NOK online. So online shop seems to always discount the games, compeard to stores. But in stores, its rearly discounted from day 1.
