I don't understand why games released on the 360 and PC aren't counted as 360 exclusives in the context of the console war by some. You can't find them on any other console, therefore they are Xbox 360 exclusives.

Microsoft wants to make money. They are going to release a game on as many formats as possible (except for the competition's) in order to gain the maximum amount of sales. Can you blame them for that?

Read the sentence. In the context of the console war. Yes you do need a 360 to play them.

The 'it's not really 360 exclusive' is used all too often by Sony and Nintendo fanboys who probably don't have a PC anywhere near the required specifications to play the game.

It is just used as stick in the same way the opposition latch on to the RROD issue.

I would say to you, do not worry about it because as a 360 owner you know you have the choice. Lets face it you cannot buy a PC for £125 that can play these games and if we were generous and allowed for the more expensive models the games card required alone is almost the value of a 360 with a Hard drive.

Is it exclusive? no but do not get worked up over it because to play it they virtually have to play Microsoft's other Games machine, Windows. It may be closer to the truth to suggest they are Microsoft game platform exclusive :) but then twelve people in sandals and tank tops will tell you they play it on a linux box so you cannot win.

You can make a really easy list of good 360 exclusives not on the PC.

It goes Halo 3, Gears of War 2

Simple. Some others like Fable 2 are in the process of making the trip to PC so I'm going to count them as no longer exclusives.

You can even get achievements in a lot of these game for windows games AND if you so desire play it with the 360 controller. In short if you have a decent PC there is just no reason to get a 360.

I do agree anything on PC should not be considered exclusive. Though that only really matters a ton to the 360, usually any PS3 or Wii exclusives stay PS3/Wii only, its only the 360 that puts all its best games on the PC (both because direct X games are easy to port over and Sony/Nintendo have no interest in seeing the PC thrive as a gaming platform)

   Incidentally you can VERY easily put together a PC that performs as well or better then the 360 for the price of the elite (and possibly the premium if you really push it).  400 dollars won't get you an incredible machine, but it will get you something more then passable.  Several people have posted sub 500 dollar PC builds that work well enough, and unlike the 360 that 500 dollar PC will be module so you can upgrade the graphics card, Hard drive or whatever for 50-100 bucks when you get the money and prices on current gen stuff drop.

Its the same reason why Microsoft is starting to back off on the PC gaming support because it clashes with their 360 sales. I read earlier on this forum that they dont want to Put Halo 3 on the PC because in Germany the PC sales would eclipse that of the 360 ones.

Its not considered exclusive when they shoot themselves in the foot

as long as you can't play them on another console, it is exclusive. I bet that there are thousands of PS3 users that would love to play Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect or Gears of War on the PS3, but they just can't.

a sell that goes to PC version it's a sell 360 lost.
same goes for ps3 and 360.
they are not counted as HD exclusives, but multiplatform games.

the only reason people count them as exclusives it's to "OH we got more exclusives in our list."

@dirty, there isn't a psp version of r1 or re but a spinoff with a different story new controls. what you said doens't make sense.
