In this economy I don't buy it.

XBL: WiiVault Wii: PM me  PSN: WiiVault

PC: AMD Athlon II Quadcore 635 (OC to 4.0ghz) , ATI Radeon 5770 1GB (x2)

MacBook Pro C2D 2.8ghz, 9600m GT 512 iMac: C2D 2.0, X2600XT 256

Prices won't rise, because no one will buy them in this economy, in fact prices will drop and people still won't buy forcing the companies to downsize or shut down

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

What is more likely to happen is the Yen will begin to go down because no one is buying goods imported from Japanese companies.

But the currency issue -- Yes vs. Dollar and Yen vs. Euro -- is one reason Sony and other companies are taking such huge losses.

It also is why there probably will not be any immediate console price drops from Sony or Nintendo.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I'm not so sure ...

I have a feeling that most of the people who are the most likely to be very price sensitive are the ones who have already stopped purchasing these electronics; and a large portion of the people who are buying similar products would continue to buy these products even if they have a higher price.

Problem is that number of price sensitive people is only going to grow as this recession drags on and even deepens, the inherent problems in the economy have only started to rear their ugly heads, more people lose their jobs or see their wages decline the fewer people will be able to buy luxury goods like flatscreens and blu-ray players, etc.
