My console got the red lights and MS is in the process of sending me a coffin so I can get over night shipping and sending me a new controller but I'm still wicked pissed because I'm near the end of Mass Effect and I really want to finish it before the new semester starts.

So basicaly to cut a long story short I want to do the towell trick but i'm afraid it will void my warranty. Does anyone know if the towel trick voids the 360 warranty or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

What exactly is the towel trick? I might need to use it eventually

I'm not sure, but as long as you don't open the 360 or kick/punch it you should still be under warranty

lol... the trick voids the warranty only if you tell MS you actually suffocated your X360 with a towel.

Wrap a towel around your 360 and then turn the console on for about 15-20 minutes, until it's overheated.

Let it cool down and voila RROD is gone (at least for some days/weeks)

kk so then as long as they dont know I'm going to bake my 360 in its own juices then I'm all set? Wish me luck everyone!

Just look it up on youtube theres tons of tutorials

Make sure when it's smothered in the towel that

1) It doesn't catch on fire

2) No Disc is inside

3) Use a towel that doesn't have allot of fuzzies, if they get caught in the fan... you are SOL

well im done heating it so now I just have to wait for it to cold down, I'll update everyone once thats done to let you know if its working or not.
