There is a sweet innocence to your sig. Something I long for. A naivete' that I have long lost, and I cherish it. Your sig brings back to me the rememberance of myself, from long ago. My view and outlook on the world, and how things have changed, mostly for the worse.
...the way I am...I don't like it anymore than most people. I'm a stuck-up asshole and I hate it. I wasn't always like this. Bitterness, envy, and greed have changed the very makeup of my soul, dear BHR-3. You sir, must strive to never lose what you don't even realize you posess. Hope, dear sir. Hope and your dreams will happen. They must. Hope, even if it struggles against my vile deformed version of hope, and perhaps, I shall hope with you. Your hope is my hope. I hope you can see that.

Gamerace said Don't have time for something detailed but simply put:
Accessibility. They made a system and controller simple enough that anyone regardless of age or lack of gaming experience could feel confident they would enjoy it. Look at how many buttons and sticks are on HD controllers. If you didn't grow up with that you'd never want to touch it. Nintendo games are fun for everyone regardless of sex or age. HD games are fun for young males 15-35.

Wiimote and WiiSports.
Give an average person an tennis/golf/bowling game and a controller for one one the HD systems. They would have no clue what to do and would not have fun. Do the same with the Wii and WiiSports, and they immediately know what to do and have lots of fun. There is your difference.
oliist said Because THIS time they are a good alternative for alot of non 'hardcore' gamers / fanboys.s
SuperDave said Well, I'd say they've sold well for a number of reasons:
-They came in at an initial price point way below their competitors which attacted a lot of people
-The majority of people still don't own an HDTV, Nintendo figured that as a result, HD graphics would not be necessary to suceed this gen
-The promise of motion control and generally a different approach to gaming attracted a lot of people to the system
-In addition to being b/c with all gc titles, Nintendo has been offering classic titles via the VC to attract old school fans
-Nintendo still has great brand loyalty, their first party titles are basically guaranteed $
-They managed to tap into an extremely large, generally untapped market(the non/casual gamer)
Anyway, just a few reasons imo why the Wii has sold so well thus far.
Hawkeye said The Wii is playable by a majority of the population. Only a fraction of the population is capable of playing most PS360 games, and most people not in that fraction are unwilling to spend the time to learn even if they are mildly interested in vdieo games. Nintendo is luring these non-gaming people into gaming with the Wii because the Wii is easy to play.
Esa-Petterti said It is simple enough for average joe.
Reading those made me ponder that the GC N64 weren't really new things in the market they were tring to go after the hardcore hence the RE exculsives and PS already had that audience and xbox was a even better alternitive
I to agree that the HD consoles have a learnig curve and complex stories to follow also it made me ponder that SW does'nt play a big part in HW sales as i thought it does
Thanx for pondering these thoughts and explaining diffrent axpectsto me but like the terminator i can never fully understand it
