More bad news from the gamerscore blog.

Xbox Gamerscore Team First to Feel the Ax at Microsoft
by Eric Bush

The first cut may be the deepest, repercussion of Microsoft's plan to hack 5,000 (in 2009) employees – the first major round of layoffs in the company's history – comes to us via Chris Paladino's (the Gamerscore Blog team) very sad Twitter feed. Paladino, of course, was one part of Microsoft's Gamerscore Blog team; while the we didn't know the entire team would actually lose there jobs as well.

Paladino first reported that "The Gamerscore blog team is no more" and then clarified that he was "a casualty" and looking for work. Gamerscore blogger – and former Achievement Junkie podcast host – Nelson Rodriguez (and former PlanetXbox360.com contributor) wrote, "wondering what happened to the AJ feed. Seems like it disappeared. Time to start from scratch." We've reached out to some of those affected to learn the extent of the layoffs.

Best of luck to everyone, especially Nelson (please let us know if we can help in anyway), who found themselves on the receiving end of a pink slip this week, including our friends formerly of Gamerscore Blog.

Yeah Major Nelson's name is Larry Hyrb. (I think that's how he spells it)

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Yeah, Bush for sure jacked up MS to point where they only posted 4.17b$ profit instead of 4.7b$. Stupid. Anyway, I read that most of layoffs were from the Zune and MSN TV teams. Xbox team was to be unaffected.

I was just going to conjecture Zune when I read your post. They are lucky, Ballmer was tempted lapidating them with chairs

Lots of rumors flying about.

"Update: Dean Takahashi at VentureBeat has word that 30 percent of Microsoft's video game testers have been cut. And the veteran journalist states that next week the game group is expected to undergo a management restructuring. What this means for Shane Kim, Phil Spencer, Don Mattrick and others we don't yet know, but we'll be sure to bring you the news as it happens."
