weird how shooters on the other hand get instant "wowz" when another sequel is announced and it just builds on the same concept of the previous one with little or no change.

but when starcraft 2 looks somewhat similar to the previous one, people start predicting low ratings or people start complaining it's just an expansion pack.
I guess that GoW2 and R2 were also just expansion packs then...

ontopic: SO4 and SF4 should be contenders, KZ2 joins the group.

I've played sf4 in the arcades in japan, and so long as they don't mess up the controls on the transition to a controller, this game is awesome.

FEAR 2. even if they used the same tech for everything and touched up the graphics, it'd still be rated highly

the thing is, they didn't use much of the same. Demo blew my mind on how different combat wise and visually (yet similar feel) it is compared to the first FEAR. Open combat + amazing AI makes for a huge difference.

Some other dates:

StarCraft II: "2009". Nothing more specific.

MadWorld: 31st March 2009 in NA, 1st March in AU. Too late.

The Conduit: Spring 2009, if it even makes it to 90+.

Star Ocean IV: February 24th 2009. Aha, this game has a chance if SF4 doesn't make it. Not confirmed AAA, but extremely likely.
