Forums - Gaming - Which one should I buy ? PS3 or Xbox 360 ?

I would say to get a PS3 for the same reasons I did. Because of reliability, and free online.

Get a wii, the one you have is crap.

Which platform does most of your social network use?

Do you own a HDTV and/or care about HD movie releases?

Does either platform have an exclusive game/games/series that interests you?

RROD is an overheating and design issue. Both have been corrected, and MS gives you a 3-year warranty to boot to cover it, if it happens. The main thing is - the newer 360s run quieter, cooler and use less power.

Plus, depending on the country, you can hop into HD gaming for just $199 U.S. Of course MS has improved their 360.

Did you own a PS2 back in the day? Did you ever get a disk read error? Regardless, gamers still bought it, even though it was a great chance it would die at DRE death.

Do your research and get the system that's best for you and your needs.

If you buy a newer 360, you have better hardware and a 3-year warranty covering you. The PS3 has a year warranty and the 360 1-year warranty covers everything else.

I think u should buy the console that applies to u most and those games u like and also if ur friends have the same console.

If multiplayer is important to you, you will need to find out how many of your friends own a PS3 or 360.

Look at the exclusives for each platform which ones do you want?

Also, you willdhave to think if you want any additional features like wifi, bluray, netflix etc and make a decision accordingly.

The only one who knows what you will enjoy more is you.

Powerfull hardvare, free online, great exclusives in 2009, realbility, blu ray, PlayStation Home, internet browser, great graphics:

PS3

more games, some good exclsuives in 2009, better online service, good graphics:

360

Well i would definately pick the 360, it pretty much shares its library with the PS3's and 360 exclusives are bigger then PS3 ones (for me personally) it has loads WRPG's Mass Effect, Fable II and JRPG's Vesperia, Star Ocean, this solely for me means that 360 is better.

Its also significantly cheaper and now with 20 gb disks available for the arcade, you jsut cant go wrong with the 360.

360 is the best option for the budget conscious.

I can buy 4 games for 30 pounds in my local Gamestation here in London all AAA titles.

Essentially for under 200 GBP you can have a setup that at launch would have cost you nearly 700 GBP

Of course you have to consider that because the 360 has sold more units, more than likely you'll get more responses to buy a 360.

I would say the PS3. Hardwarewise it's the more reliable. Softwarewise it's really boils down to the exclusives. Aside from 3rd parties, something about SONY's 1st and 2nd party efforts seem to be more creative. They are willing to try something new/different that really doesn't seem to primarily focus on the casual gamer. They have hidden games like Folklore & Siren. Their online efforts are great with the help of online only titles such as Warhawk and SOCOM (your multi-player online games, not counting those single player games that also have offlline and online multiplayer options.) And they also seem to be pushing genres with games such as Resistance 1 & 2, Little Big Planet, Ratchet & Clank Future, & Uncharted. The neat thing about being online with the PS3 is that it's free. If you need to buy a wireless headset, just pick out whatever Bluetooth headset you want because it also works with your cellphone. And upgrading is very user-friendly and relatively inexpensive. Because unlike SONY's past history, the PS3 is not very proprietary.  Also, the ability to rent/buy downloadable moves and the watching Blu-ray are bonuses.

You will get quality hardware, quality software, solid online features, flexability, and perks that will make you feel very secure with your purchase.
