So I just checked out the PSN Store update and to my surprise there were two PS1 classics added to the store. To my dissapointment they were The Little Mermaid II and Hercules. Looks like Disney wan't to release a lot of their 'classics'.

I am inteerested though. Has anyone played these 'classics' and can they confirm whether they are any good or just plain dreadful?

Ah Hercules, I remember that game.

 Was it good, or is this back catalog mining as bizarre as it looks?

I sometimes wonder who gets to make the final call on these decisions. I cannot understand why you would ever put random licensced games up as a classic unless it sld well back in the day. It seems unlikely that these games will be able to recapture their former glory if that is the case.

I don't remember how good/bad it was, though I did play it a lot when I was younger.

I recall it's mainly a side scroller game with the ability to move forward and backwards through the environment in certain areas in the levels. There were also levels where you're running forward along set paths while you avoid obstacles and the like.

Hercules is a side-scroller.

The game is not to long, but the graphics are pretty good and it's actually fun to play. Definitely a 8+ game and for 10 euro's a must-have.

Little Mermaid II got a 7 from IGN back in the day. They gave Hercules a 6. I would say avoid. The games have probably aged since then.

PSOne Classics sure are a weird bunch. How these two come out and Sony hasn't even released it's own back catalog is beyond me. Where the hell are the Gran Turismos Sony?

I remember loving Hercules back in the day. I was 7.

EDIT: I may not have been seven, thinking about it, but it was certainly a long time ago.

Damn, for a second i though the game was "Herc's Adventures" that game was awesome!

Hercules was great. I still have a copy for the PS1 somewhere.....

Holy shit mate. That game was even better.

I didn't think I would ever meet a person, who know this game.
