Isn't 12 to 16 hours of gameplay above today's average length for games?

I'm sure lots of publisher will be interested in this as well.  The way I see it is that MS is doing a $50million experiment.  They are taking the biggest 3rd party franchise and attempting to create a new revenue model.  Instead of creating a full add on and selling it as a boxed copy they are selling it as DLC.  Depending on how successfull this is we may see more or companies will just continue making boxed sequels like Rainbox Six Vegas etc.

Well lets hope it comes down in price.  But is that likely?

Doesn't change the fact, that the game is 9 months old and the DLC is brand new.

So should'nt the price of this NEW DLC for a 9 month old game reflect that?  1200 points is a much nicer figure!

Why ? It surely wasn't cheap to develop and they want to make a decent profit as well.

I paid much more for expansions with less content. Half Life 2 Episode 1, Half Life 2 Episode 2 & Call of Duty United Offensive comes into my mind. A playthrough was definitely less than 10 hours for each of those great expansions. They were still worth the money.

GTAIV was pretty good. Not as good as the others, or SR2, but a pretty good game.

It'll be interesting to see how the DLC works out. I hope that the new stories inside the DLC are worth the price of admission.

I wonder, for all the complainers, did you whine that Shivering Isles was $30? It's not like GTAIV DLC is setting some sort of record for the price.

Compare that to $12 for LBP's recent premium packs which give you some costumes, a couple of levels, a paintgun and some stickers.
I think 10-12 hours of content is easily worth the $20, how long was the campaign in GeOW again?
