This is stupid, why would you ever sell a PS3 when Blu-Ray is just getting into its stride and theres on hell of a 2009 lineup for the console?

| radha said: Ok, i no longer see light at the end of the tunnel, the ps3 wont catch momentum without a price cut and there appears to be no price cut, so i think eventually third parties wont make more games for it. I can only have one console since is hard to convice my wife of spending more money in gaming. Should i sell when there is still time????
am i been paranoid? |
why are you worrying bout a price cut if you have one already?
Highly doubt it
No
and you are being very very paranoid...there will be a price cut third parties will continue to make games and ps3 is a great system to have alone
at least wait till GOW3 comes to think about selling it
Dude don't sell it because its 3rd. Dont forget, PlayStation familiy is still on the number 1 in sales numbers and software numbers so 3rd party developers won't stop making games for it.
I don't get ur post man do own a 360 or Wii? if not then no i wouldn't sell it b/c 3rd party support i think is getting better 4 the ps3 Bioshock is on it Saints Row 2 also it looks like the next Dead Rising will come to ps3 games ported over are starting to be equal to the 360 also
I don't get why alot aof ps3 owners get rid of there ps3 as soon as it gets good games KZ2, GT5, Uncharted2 Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, GOW3, Heavy Rain, Quantum Theory are about to come out and a pretty good 08 line up it just had wats going on with everybody
Sure it's not doing good in sales as MS and Nin are doing and i still have in my sig Recent ps3 vs 360 make me feel angry but thats just for fun for this site u got to have a little faith in the ps3 brother

Your asking a very valid question. The first question is will the consoles position cost the console support. The second question is it justifiable to be concerned. The answer to both questions is yes. The console will have less exclusive support, and less support in general. Yes you should be concerned it isn't just the position its the financial condition of the parent company.
No you are not paranoid. You are being rational, and perhaps you are a little further in the curve then most. A lot of posters here will not panic until it is too late. They will try to trade in their PS3 to find its worth much less due to its market position, and the lack of a true future. Consoles can be looked at as investments especially where depreciation is concerned.
Your asking sound questions, and the self serving will try to discourage you, but that is not about what is best for you. For them its all about what is best for them. There is nothing wrong with playing it safe. Selling the PS3 in favor of a 360 or a Wii is a safe move. You know you will have better games, and you know you will have better long term value. There is no reason for you to gamble with your limited gaming dollar.
Many of these posters would respond differently if they were in your situation. However they are not if the PS3 goes bust they can just buy a new console. You need to be able to sell your old console to buy a new console. The console goes bust or suffers from its market position, and you lose a lot of trade in value. I recommend you go with a safer alternative. You will sleep better, and if their argument is games for multiple platforms. You can still get the other console and have more and have those multiple platform games. It isn't even an argument against changing up consoles.
thanks everyone of the comments most have been very positive, yes i will keep it, what have to do is put on my pants and tell my wife am buying another console in the case it does end up without third party support, heck ill even ask her to let me buy killzone 2.
wish me luck on the killzone 2 part i want that game dammit.
dd if = /dev/brain | tail -f | grep games | nc -lnvvp 80
Hey Listen!
I say sell it so we can then collectively laugh at you for selling your console for such an absurd reason.
The funny thing is the 360/ps3 get the most quality 3rd party support instead of just the shovelware that the wii gets. The 360/ps3 will always be a bastion for 3rd party AAA/AA games because (a) it's actually easier to tap the 'hardcore' crowd and (b) when the 360 + ps3 userbase are combined it actually adds up to a pretty decent amount.
Do you really expect developers to drop bioshock 2, assassin's creed 2, RE5, street fighter iv, ghost recon 2, COD MW2, Godfather 2, FEAR 2, Brutal Legend, Batman: AA, Bayonetta, Fight Night Round 4, Bionic Commando, Ghost Busters: The videogame, Borderlands, Prototype, Mafia 2, Dirt 2, Just Cause 2, GH metallica, Tekken 6, Borderlands, The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf, Dead Space 2 and more from the ps3?
Yep...and we haven't even mentioned exclusives, or blu-ray, or free online, or psn games. Sell the ps3 and get a wii because it's obviously going to get all of the aforementioned games and more because it's the no. 1 selling console LOL
