Forums - Sony - Breaking News: Sony to post massive $1.7 billion loss

madskillz,

So the gaming section of Houston Chronicles is where you write the most, and regularily.

I even spotted the word "folks" there somewhere lol.

I'm going to tell Snake612 to contact you madskillz on how to get tips about writing popular threads and get people to respect him here on VGC. ^^

@ Slimebeat

There are three of us that do Game Hacks, and we all contribute equally. However, when I got here, I pushed to get our junk in print. We were successful. Now, we get reviews in the paper at least once a week, but things have been crazy, and that's ceased for a minute. Just trying to get stuff into print, and that gets more folks onboard - devs, publishers and the like.

What makes our blog shine is the ability to reach at least 400K readers daily. Even if we get just half, that's more than some magazines.

But your reviews are printed in the (paper) paper from time to time?

Yeah. I've had 4-5 articles so far. 'Gears 2' is running soon. We rotate each week, but I have been getting most of the exposure. If you are in the U.S., PM me your address and I'll ship you my GHWT review that ran last year. Matter of fact, I need to mail the devs/PR folks and publishers their copies!

On the average, I have like 2-3 reviews in print in a month. I am also going to start doing a video game column in the religion section soon. That will be a weekly feature whenever we get the official green light.

A game column in the religion section?? Interesting. What's the idea behind that?

Religious versions of popular games seem to be getting a large following. I'll cover various topics weekly for the column. I was approached by the woman now in charge of the religion section. There are actually versions of Grand Theft Auto and Guitar Hero for religious audiences. Yeah, it's wild.

Look, hit my wall so we don't go off-topic anymore, ai'te, Slimebeast? Thanks!!!!

^^
Nice idea, will we be able to get a pastafarian version of Fallout3 or a lefebvrist Leisure Suit Larry, for example?

Looks like SCEE doesent seem to be affected with this loss. That's good since i live in Europe, and dont need to worry for my PS2, PS3 and PS2.

In what specific way would your PS3/PSP/PS2 be more hurt if SCEE suffers than SCEA or SCEI? The games are developed all over the world.

well, MAYBE Sony will realize SCEE is doing better than SCEA and some games will be realised in Europe first for a change and i dont have to wait that long. PS3 is doing worst in USA and Sony is still giving them almost  all the games first

FishyJoe you seem to be little bit obsessed with Sony losing money. We all saw that news, its on main page of the web site

This is a site about sales numbers for video game companies--it stands to reason that people would be interested in discussing the fiscal health of one of the major (or, hell, any of the) players and, judging by the page count thus far, that is being borne out.

Sooner or later tons of people would create threads about it, so I guess FishyJoe wanted to have an "official" thread about it as soon as possible.

Also, the forum is much better for long discussions than the news articles' comment section.

i guess that makes since
