This year omsetningstall from the game industry in 2008:
Game industry with NOK a record behind him
12.6% increase in turnover in the shop.
We have summed industry omsetningstall for 2008 and growth from the record year 2007 is formidable. Sales of PC and Console to shop, have an increase of 12.6% from NOK 593 million in 2007 to just NOK 668 million in 2008.
In game sales per console, we see that the PlayStation 3 has the greatest market share with 25.8%. It is worth noting that the Xbox 360 numbers are somewhat low due to the fact that Microsoft does not supply their own numbers. The figures are reported for the Xbox 360 comes only from third-party distributors. However, the turnover of the game's Xbox 360 for 15.4%, while the Nintendo Wii has a market share of 13.2%. When it comes to sales per game for the handheld console, we see that the Nintendo DS strengthened a firm grip on market share with 10.5%. PC market has lost a bit, down by 8.2% from 2007 despite a strong end of year with many great titles.
When it comes to the number of hardware consoles sold so you can see that of the three consoles are the Nintendo Wii sold the most during the year, closely followed by PlayStation 3
There are many exciting releases in 2009 so it is very likely that we can have a nice NOK years.
