It was like a big "f*ck you, atheists!" when the preacher started praying. And since obama is one of the most liberal presidents in a long time, this made it even all the more funny!
BTW, everyone who said you are an athiest, that's kind of depressing. |
Well he is very religious despite being very liberal.
I mean the vast majority of our Presidents weren't really religious at all....
I mean the most religious are probably Obama and Bush Senior...
and like a couple of the earlier ones that weren't Free Masons. (Of which there are like 14-18. I mean... being a freemason doesn't exclude one from being religious... but they were very open about accepting all religions.)

While I'm sure most presidents acted more religious than they actually were, and were open to other religious ideas, it doesn't exclude them from being christian. A notable exclusion is James Buchanon, who was probably gay. I have no evidence to back this up, BTW
I have never really thought of the presidency as a christian duty though, as long as they do a good job, it doesn't matter.

Oh i didn't say they weren't Christians. Just they were "average" Christians.
The go to church weekly, haven't read the bible since sunday school types.
Though a few of them did seem fairly unreligious... or just not christian
Like Abraham Lincoln... who was a Deist... who occasionally though rarely went to church with his wife. So everyone calls him a methodist.
There was another who went to church... but the thing was... he went to different churches of different demoninations... talking about which ones he found most enjoyable. It was more a show to him then anything else.
Overall strong christian morals usually get in the way of "what's good for the country."
I mean the perfect Christian after 9-11 for example would of did absolutely nothing. Not invade afghanistan or anything.
I mean that's why Jimmy Carter is seen as such a bad president. He was too nice of a guy.
