what will sell more
1st week
ltd
alan wake, no need for discussion.
- 360 has a larger userbase
- alan wake is one of the touted 'AAA' games to be released at the end of 09
- alan wake will appeal to more consumers (at least I think but we'll see)
Ultimately heavy rain has no chance of selling better than alan wake but it should do well regardless. HR could should do at least 1.5 million, alan wake, maybe 3 million + ?
depends on how both games turn out. heavy rain is the title thats looking the most promising, ie. there trying a new take on a genre. plus the grafix are looking to be best of this gen, and you will only be able to play on ps3.
alan wake also looks to be ace, from the info ive read it sounds like a sandbox survival horror. tip top grafix and interesting story should make a good game for xbox owners, its one of the 360 games thats a day 1 purchase.
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk
really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...
Alan Wake, for the simple reason that Heavy Rain is going to be a very niche game. I'd be honestly surprised if Heavy Rain even manages to sell 1 million lifetime.
It doesn't help that most people are under the (false) impression that Heavy Rain is just a QTE game.

Heavy Rain
Alan Wake, especially taking all these delays in the development process into account, is destined to be yet another 360 midcarder like Ninja Gaiden II or Too Human at best.
Heavens to Murgatoids.
Alan Wake on both counts. Alan Wake will benefit from Microsoft's marketing department. If both games are equally marketed, then I would say Alan Wake 1st week and Heavy Rain LTD.
Good news Everyone!

Alan Wake is being developed by 30 people. The reason it is taking so long is because Remedy wants to make sure they are satisfied with every component. Comparing it to Too Human is insulting.

It was supposed to be out in January of 2007.

Alan Wake, but not by much, i doubt either game will really hit any great heights
