Forums - Sony - Convince me to buy Fallout 3

All I will say is that if you don't get this game then you will be the one to lose out. You will lose out because you will not own one of the most amazing games ever.

Don't buy F3 it's crap. It plays like Oblivion with guns (altrough this time with slightly less retarded leveling system - altrough the new one still sucks and allows creation of supermen who reaches level cap somewhere at 25% of game).

And if you really need one stay away from console versions - at least with pc you can use mods which restore a bit of sense into game.

So if you've played other wrpgs (especially oblivion) and didn't like them then avoid this like the plague.

This is basically my reason for not touching it with a 10 foot pole.

Please don't judge wRPG as a whole by Oblivion standarts. Oblivion is one of the biggest failures in the genre, simplified version of good series that was casualized and made teenager friendly to fit better with console demographics.

If you want to judge wRPG do so after playing Witcher or Mass Effect (or Kotor if you don't mind older titles)

Do not buy it. Pay days as you know them might get scarcer and scarcer.

Buy fallout 3 or the bunny gets it!

@OP:
Once got over the initial disappointment for it not being a true sequel of F 1 and 2 in its main aspects, most people quite liked it. According to most, if you like Fallout but you aren't fanatic about its original style and gaming, and if you like Morrowind or Oblivion, you could like Fallout 3. Myself, being in this category, I'm quite tempted, but I must update my PC first, otherwise I'd get a slideshow instead of motion.

I like fallout 3 so far.

Lot of fun... though if your not a fan of WRPGs or Shooters you may not like it...

as it's real time... in a first person perspective.... and pretty much plays like a shooter with an added on "turn based" mode you can activate once in a while.

Of course it's nowhere near the first two.

Actually you should get the first two... it's probably more enjoyable for JRPG fans... all turnbased SRPG like grid like when in battle.  You can get the two together plus the awful Fallout Tactics for like 10-20 bucks.

I'm not judging wrpg's based on oblivion. My comment was directed at oblivion, which I really dislike, not wrpg's in general.

probably cheaper to buy a 360 arcade...

If it was only for F3, you'd be 100% right, but I must upgrade it anyway, the notebook is a decent Turion-TL60, but the desktop has an AthlonXP 2200+, 768MB, a Radeon 9250 and two HDD almost full and most games I already own but still not started could look a lot better on a cheap current time entry-level, by no means I'll build a monster PC, I'm more for an entry-level silent (I bought big, silent, low RPM case and CPU fans and a silent fan PSU for it) and low power one that would be more than twice as fast (excluding the new HDD, faster, but not by so much) as my current desktop anyway.
