@madskillz^^well sony paid most of the development money for LA Noir yet you will probably see it on 360 aswell,so this sorta thing happens.

(not talking about the first game) beside take a look at their last Q financial statement ,,,EA needs Revenue/profit and they will do what ever they can. so it's anyone's guess at this point but ME2 and 3 ports are not out of question. |
EA will publish Mass Effect 2 and 3 on cell phones, Game Gears and Virtual Boys if they could.
The real fly in the ointment is if Microsoft and Bioware have a contract in place that EA will have to honor. I don't think there was one - but we'll see soon. What would be so funny is if EA announces the game is going multiplat and Billy Gate$ himself interupts the announcement, flanked with a squad of lawyers.
Just ask Sony about lawsuits - hmmmm Immersion, anyone?

Since Mass Effect 2 is probably already in development, I doubt if it hits PS3 it won't be a port, but who knows. Either way, PS3 gamers will be happy so it's a win for them. |
Mass Effect 1 was published by Microsoft... they have exclusive console publishing rights. As for contracts with Bioware any contracts that Bioware had to make games goes over to EA and remember that just because EA owns them doesn't mean EA will mess with them. This is a developer that consistantly puts out high selling products. It is also highly unlikely that Bioware will move their lead platform at the end of a trilogy either if it goes multi platform. This game is solidly a 360 game and this will adversly effect sales on the PS3. I'm also guessing that one way or the other Microsoft will come out ahead... Bioware was always partial to them.
I dont think so...the games fanbase is on 360 and PC. Releasing it on PS3 would likely be a waste of money.
meh...good for people who want to play it i suppose.
Microsoft should have bought Bioware instead of EA. They were virtually first party for 6 or 7 years.

I kind of agree with this as the character is transferrable from ME to ME2 so the 360 will potentially have a 2 million unit head start. However the sequel will not need the original to play.

I think EA must regret paying $860 million for Bioware/Pandemic especially when you look at the last 2 games Mercs 2 and Lord of the Rings Conquest. I'm sure MS had the opportunity but they didn't find it worth it.
@madskillz: You link did provide one good bit of info. Straight froma d eveloper:
This would be sweet! Plus it can in fact happen!
Microsoft was only the publisher for the 360 version, when EA bought Bioware, they got the publishing rights for Mass Effect as well. Which is why they published the PC port.
