Why is MS doing this? My thought and I have NO evidence at all, is that MS tries to make Mass Effect more popular, because they will get Mass Effect 2 exclusively. Well it sold 2.3 million units, which is a great number, but MS might wanna make ME a new and strong franchise. It seems to be a great game. it scored 91% on metacritic.

I missed this game, so I really hope this deal makes it way to Europe.

Could be. cant see no other reason for releasing a special edition. I personally think mass effect 2 will be multiplat though. dont as why... just a hunch ive had since ME first released

But as far as I know, you need to play the first one to understand the second one, so I don't think it would sell great on PS3. Saints Row 2 sold 2:1 in favour of the Xbox360 and I blame Saints Row being exclusive for the Xbox360. This ratio could be even bigger with Mass Effect.

And I bet it will be for Bioshock2.

Regardless of whether ME2 is exclusive or not I will get it week 1.

Even if this special edition doesn't make it to where you live, you should buy a regular copy anyway. Mass Effect is near the top of the list for best games of the gen.

I agree with the guy who has the cat avatar, the OP is really clutching onto straws here. I do hope ME2 is good on PC unlike the first one, that was just awful.

This thread is reaching.  The news that a ME re-release is coming is fine, but then to say that ME2 will be exclusive because of a re-release is reaching.  I'm just calling it like I see it.

And I am not saying it WILL be exclusive, I said it MIGHT be. That is a difference. There is this little sign "?" in the title and a "But maybe I am wrong... then it is just a great deal." at the end. So I tried to discuss something, because that is what a forum is about. You have nothing to say, thats fine so please don't post here.

I can't remember MS re-release a game before. Of course there were hundreds of limited / collectors / classic edition etc, but not a special edition after the game is out for 15 months.
