Forums - Gaming - When it comes to controllers everyone copies nintendo.

NES uses a d-pad first . SNES uses shoulder buttons first  . N64 uses a control stick first and

Gamecube uses wave bird wireless controller first. Why does everyone copy? Can't anyone be

orginal? We all know what will happen next gen. Motion controllers for all consoles. Copycats.

Perhaps you should say analog stick. Because control sticks had been around for a while.

Nobody has ever copied the Nintendo D-Pad... At least... Nobodies copied it well... :p

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

Dreamcast had analog triggers. Sony did dual analogs. Sega has a motion controlled fishing controller. The Nintendo Power Pad was taken from some other company (I can't remember who). Mattel made the Power Glove. Microsoft made a motion controller for PC's years ago.

Wasn't the Power Glove licensed by Nintendo though? And what are analog triggers?

most of it is not true. arcade machines obviously have analog sticks and they were out well before nintendo's first console.

Like the Gamecube, the 360, and the PS3, the Dreamcasts triggers were pressure sensitive. Most racing games used them like gas pedals.

I seriously doubt MS came up with anything as revolutionary as motion controls themselves. Link please.

Dual analogue sticks weren't a good invention. I've never seen a game that uses them where one stick and the other buttons couldn't replace them.

Nintendo had analog first and they licensed the Power Glove.

As far as motion controls go Ninty was the first to make it the stardard controller not just some goofy fishing peripheral.
