That's CGI. The intro to Killzone 2 (like the first Killzone and Liberation) will be CGI. However, I think that video is just a preview of it, I don't believe that's the full thing.

Honestly if this is what PS3 can do after only 2 years being on market,,,I can't wait to see what it does after 4 to 5 years.

If Allen Wake, Killzone 2, and Heavy Rain are anything to go by, I'd like to see how the 360 and PS3 look as more and more developers squeeze out more power.

Silly comparison. The game looks great but doesn't even compare to the CGI trailer (which for example has actual colour)

Its amazing what PC/360 and PS3 can do when it comes to graphics. The second half of this generation will be amazing. Now that devs have mastered the systems games will be even better.

This comparison is ridiculous. Please ignore the right side for a moment, look at the pictures on the left side and ask yourself if those are quality screenshots.

Somehow, the CGI version looks grainy and low-res. Is there a HD version of this 2005 trailer somewhere that we can look at?

Having seen countless animated gifs of KZ2 explosions in people's sigs, I can say the smoke/explosion effects at least look better in this trailer. But hey, this game still has great graphics even if they are not equal to the CGI trailer in some aspects.

It still blows me away how people can try and downplay the imporvments games make over time on a console. Looking back at this point in the PS2's life time, the best looking game was probably Jak 2. No tell me the differances between Jak 2, and God of War 2 or Gran Turismo 4 are nothing, or that they are mostly the same. I know for a fact that GT4, and GoW2 are miles ahead of any game that came out at this point in the PS2's life time. Hell GT4 in 1080i looked nearly as good as many of the first 360 racers did. Try it for yourself. In fact it nearl looks as good as BP. GoW2 had textures that arenot possibel on 32MB of RAM, but go and play the game and you will be blown away. I have only played this game on my old 50in SXRD, but even on that PS2 graphics killer, that game looked damn good.

These pics are a horrible way to show K2. In action, this game could ealy be seen by many a bystanders as better than the CGI, and I think once the game is out and people play it for them selves there will be no question whether it looks better or not. I have said since day one that that trailer, along with the Getaway one, and the Alferd Molina one were all going to be matched and surpassed by Sony. I was not expecting to see it happen tell 2011 -12, but I believe they are there already. Now I don't even know what to expect from games late in the PS3's life. Heavy Rain, Killzone 2, and Uncharted 2 will look old compared to what we see at that time.
