Forums - Sony Discussion - The Official Killzone 2 Thread

Just a quick note that at the minute .....19th January.....Killzone 2 is at number 13 on the video games sales list at Amazon.co.uk at £35. In comparison a month before its release, R2 was at roughly number 100.

And ive got a question for those in the KZ2 multiplayer Beta, Are the KZ2 servers decent, or is it the same a COD5 (lag, hard to join parties etc)?

Comments I have read on GAF have stated the beta was relatively lag free

They weren't bad. We'll have to see what happens on release, but the worst problem in the beta was team stacking and network errors that would disconnect you from their servers.

For the most part though, things held up while playing in 32 player matches.

^ LoL

I hope they are at least better than the COD servers.

Looks amazing! Obviously, since the best things come from the Netherlands!

MakingMusic: little bit of info on the costs. Blackbook costed €20 million, which on average the past years was some $30 million. According to Guerilla KZ2 is "well above that". That was in 2006, before the budget was rumoured to have doubled. In January 2008 the budget was estimated at €40million ($60 million) .Obviously that's development costs only. Total costs must approach $80 million (or above MGS4).

FYI: Killzone Liberation was made by 25 people.
