I think this gen will end later then 2012.... maybe Microsoft will release a new console at Christmas then...maybe.

Anyway, it's certainly not impossible for the PS3 o outsell the 360, infact you even pointed out that all it needs to do is outsell the 360 by 50k per week for 3 years. Certainly not beyond the realms of possiblity (I'm not saying it is likely to happen, just that it might)

Sony has a lot of leverage left in price alone and they have miles to catch up in marketing all the while getting all the biggest IP's out there (like many mentioned before).
Nothing is for certain, this gen in unruly and unpredictable, different from any other and it seems reluctant to follow most of the conventions we usually base our parameters and crystal ball foresight on (as is clear in all the horrible predictions in here, mine included).

i think that predictions of numbers are subjective in time is like the other guy said the sales are never going to be constant always.

If PS3 starts selling 934m consoles a day then it will beat xbox and wii total sales in a matter of minutes, its simple maths. -_-

I can't say who will win, all I can say is that for the first time, after this holiday, the Xbox 360 has a good chance to win second place.

It's unbelievable how far the PS brand has fallen since the PS2, all directly due to the unnecessary Blu-Ray luxery Sony added to the PS3 in order to force gamers to become early adopters of their expensive new technology.

What´s curious and funny to me, is how both Nintendo and Sony 'fell' with their 3rd system (N64,PS3)....I guess in this industry, it takes 2 very successful consoles for a company to think all´s well no matter what..
