That's not true. You can't my favorite 360 game (Lost Odyssey) without a hard drive. So there is a $100 hidden fee to get a hard drive just to be able to play the game.

But seriously why do you need a hard drive for LO ? As far as I know it's not required, unless you want to stealth mention the long loading times....

Oops. I meant to add a "play" in there.

 

But no you can't play it. I let my friend borrow it (who has an arcade) and it wouldn't work. Being that LO works with my 360 and every other game works with his, I came to the conclusion that it wouldn't work it.

The only reason that it might not work is that the save files are too large.  But I am not sure that the save files would take up 512mb.

That's not true. The game wouldn't load without a hard drive. He had enough space, or else I'm sure it would at least have let him fire up the game.

Hidden? As in - away from view in order to deceive? Nah, son.

I am glad MS released a console without a HD. It was $299 when it came out, $200 cheaper than the 20gb PS3. I opted for Premium and the hard drive. MS offered folks the chance for HD gaming for much, much less than the PS3. Folks are quick to point out hidden costs to get the 360 up to the PS3's standards. Yeah, right.

I got Blu Ray because I bought a PS3. I didn't need it for gaming, and have bought more Blus over time, but really, it was as necessary to gaming as a *gasp* card reader. Am I going to game or use Photoshop?!

I agree that the accessories need to be cheaper..

but also Arcades come with internal memory....now

Here's the deal - you get a 256mb card, and if you were fast enough, a 512mb mem card for free. No one is forcing anyone to buy any console. You know that when you walk into a big box retailer and lay down the cash, duckies or plastic.

MS made sure everyone - everyone - who wants to go online gets online for just $20. I wasn't fast enough, so it would cost me $30. That's a couple pizzas and a few cans of Slimfast. I am still gonna buy an extra 20gb drive and 3 months of LIVE because I qualify.

I like being online to game, but it's far from necessary. Is it right MS is charging outrageous prices for this stuff? So what. It's nice to have, but definitely not a requirement for good gaming.

Some people don't know about 360's Hard Drive upgrade for the Aracde 360's

You get a 20gig Hard drive for your 360..

  • Xbox 360 Acade owners: Refurbished 20GB HDD + 3 months of Xbox Live for $30.
  • Xbox 360 Core owners: 512MB memory card for free OR refurbished 20GB HDD for $20

Enter your serial number and console ID, and if it regesters as an Arcade Console.. your in.

Sony are right in a way though, i mean, a lot of people will look at the price of an arcade 360 and not automatically assume it comes without things like wifi

If they are buying the Arcade is WiFi on their mind?


I mean the system has been out sense Nov. 22, 2005.

If you don't know what each of the systems has to offer by now....

You probably don't know what the hell WiFi is.

Some people are actually forgetting if you dont have to buy the system with no wifi. Its entirely up to the consumers what choice they want. If they dont want it they dont want it and vice versa.
