Forums - Nintendo - IGN: "Wii Music a Hit: We Have Failed"

I actually think you are are the money noname. And while I loathe the pigeonholing of words like casual and hardcore, I understand what you mean. Further, I've always had a gut feeling that Wii would follow the DS pattern of weak third party support to strong third party support. Also the so called hardcore ppl talk about, the true core gamers follow the games, not the companies. You can tel who there are, say a metal gear was to be unveiled for the Wii at E3, the true core gamers who love that series would be happy another game in the series they love is coming out. The phonies would be pist it isn't on their console of choice. So its the "I like the series but only if its on XYZ" I'm on tangent now, but hipe it made sense.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Seeing a game like Wii Music becoming a hit is worrying for the future of gaming in general and Nintendo specifically. If old people start to play videogames, it's just not a cool thing to do anymore. I might look for a different hobby, at this rate gaming will be dead for me within a couple of years.

Don't be silly Rol. The only old person playing this is Grampy. The rest of 'em are kindergarteners and first-graders. It's a noise maker, after all!

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

That sounds like something old people would do, so if I started doing that I would probably see myself as being an old man. But since it's now cool for old people to play videogames I might just get back into gaming. Thank you, Nintendo.

Stamp collecting may be a boring game, but as the link shows, it has cool unlockables.  I would have inserted a crack about Super Smash Bros. here if it wasn't such an obvious lie.  [edit:Interpreted a different way, I guess I made a crack after all...]

I kind of agree as I think music games are dumb, but as a musician I have more curiousity about Wii Music, than GH or RB.

If a Wii Music 2 let you control pitch accurately and truly make your own songs, then I'd buy it for sure, even if the music is all 'Row row row your boat' etc.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Rol can relax, as you saw in my posting I never claimed to have played the game although I believe I will buy it eventually.

Because I have not played it I did not, unlike others here, offer an uninformed personal opinion about something I know nothing about. Instead I was passing along comments from people who had played the game and had a musical background, or interest in the case of the younger contributer, that qualified them to make a useful informed comment.

Likewise, you will not find any comment from me abouts Gears of War or MGS because having not played them, nor desired to I would have nothing to contribute but Fanboy drivel and as far as I can tell, we have plenty already.

I did comment on GTA4 after having spent a day playing it - a day of my life that I would realy like to have back.
