Forums - Nintendo - IGN: "Wii Music a Hit: We Have Failed"

@BTFeather: Thanks for your insightful input. Hey, could you share your Wii friendcode with me, maybe we could exchange a couple of Wii Music videos?

@Mike: As far as i can tell at a quick glance, Tuoyo owns Wii, but not Wii Music. That's just about it.

Btw, Mike, remember the bashing the dog suit got? When you give the controllers to less than 5 years old kids and the dog suit with their own Miis, you'll know what it's for. Oh the fun and enjoyment the kids have.

I once made Jingle Bell Rock, as sung by a dog choir.

Didn't sound great, but it was pretty amusing.

(Although that was nicely phrased. Well done there, no sarcasm.)

They didn't fail. They just pointed out the very real flaws of the game like 29 (also including Game Informer and Eurogamer) other publications did. Of course, they forgot that the Wiistians will be there in droves to pick up any Nintendo game no matter how flawed and especially if it has accurately low review scores. If they had wanted to succeed in keeping this game's sales low they either would have ignored it or given it a fairly high score see the terrific (not) sales for Metroid Prime 3.

Now, there are very few games which legitimately have 50% of their review scores above 70% (with 25% above 80%) and also have a lot of scores in the 30%, 40% and 50% range ... Now, when you have reviewers bragging about how they are going to trash a game before they have played it the reason why there is such a discrepancy becomes clear.

But I don't want Wii Music 2. I want F-Zero Wii.

This is bad news for me.

Sometimes I wonder what it is Nintendo fans really want. You seem to be the only group that will praise anything that comes out of their studios. The rich keep getting richer..

Wiistian? That's terrible. Even Wiitard was a better word than that.

Try something that actually rolls off the tongue, like Wiipublican or Wiiligious zealot.

Go Wii Music!!! How does this game compare to Wii Fit though? Cause that is the only real way of calling it a huge success. We all knew it would sell alot, but the word Wii usually means 5 mill plus.

I don't really care if reviewers review shit bad, or analysts analyze bad. Heck don't even care about half the games if they do good or not. Like wiimusic, don't care if it suceeds or not.

BUT this is just downright wrong. A gaming site mad and upset that their attempts to make a game not sell or do good because they didn't like it and upset that it sold well and did good is just horrible.

I don't care about WiiMusic at all, but stuff like this is gonna keep me off IGN's website for a long time. who knows if I will ever go back again, except the once in a while check a games release date.

Mm, not really. Wii Chess is doing pathetic, for instance. And there are incredibly few games that can compare to Wii Fit. AND there were plenty who thought this wouldn't sell at all (see famousringo's sig for one example).

But I'm willing to be honest, and say that Wii Music probably isn't selling as well as Nintendo had hoped.
