Forums - Gaming - So why is everyone so anal about games?

So I just read a few posts saying that the PS3 version of the Orange Box was unplayable because of Frame rate issues.Thats funny Cause I just played the game for the first time this summer, completely unpatched cuz im lazy and I had no problems with the game....It was Completely 100% playable. I did not notice a single thing wrong with it. Played Portal til me and my friends beat it (which was like a day).

I just dont get it. How can a game that has "frame rate" issues be "Unplayable". When did gamers become so anal about there games?

And you see it with every game these days, frame rates, resolutions, load speed, sales, etc etc.I just wonder if people are making stuff up, exaggerating, or did they actually play these games and  Hulk out because a certain pixel was not the shade of Crimson they wanted it to be?

What do you people think? Are all these claims justified or what (across all games with bad reps)? Do you really think people could tell the different or make these claims if no one else said anything?

I personally think everyone is full of **it.

btw I see these claims on both HD systems(so no Sony sucks, microsoft sux comments, not really a good arguement to the issue). Also Lair was probably the only game that was unplayable before a patch, cuz I kno someone will bring that up.

Frame rates are quite important to me for video games, if a game is at 30 fps or less, I can notice it start to slideshow, as it were, and it affects how the game controls. I would prefer games to be 480p 60hz than 1080p or higher but only 30 hz

Dude u must have really really good eyes, cuz I did not see it. The game moved and controlled exactly how I thought it was going to. But hey if your 100% legit Im not gonna say anything, just wanted to kno the truth.

Btw arent most games in 30FPS atm or have they all switched over to 60FPS? I kno they started to switch more and more like a year or two ago

Some fanboys like to use the most minor differences they can find and use them to show a negative image of a console.

People like to bitch

I don't care if it comes on more than 1 disc
I don't care if I have to install it on my HDD
I don't care if the resolution is only 640p

I only care that the game is fun, which i think a lot of gamers lose sight of

I agree

I sadly prefer DL to HDD if done right, like DMC4.(some devlopers thou, they use it to get stuff done easier not exactly to Optimize it the games speed or graphics)

I dont care about multiple discs but i care how they are packaged, like Lost Odyssey was 4 discs stacked on top of each other.(they scratch soo easily)

Couldnt agree with u more on res.

Then why aren't you a PC gamer if you really want 60 FPS that hard? Stable 30 is enough for most games. Actually stable 30 might even be better that unstable 60 that sometimes goes as down as 40.

lol crysis at 60fps haha

Im a PC Gamer and play all my games at 60fps if I can. I can tell if games are running at 30fps just by looking at them, it only affects game play if the fps isn't stable like dropping from 30 to 20 and back or even 60 to 40. I play with V-sync on and with v-sync it goes from 60 to 30fps. Im running 2x gf 8800gtx in Sli by the way.
