i found nothing wrong with red steel, i have no idea where all this hate came from

I must say I didn't overly enjoy the original but the fact that RS2 was announced in mid 2007 and has since been confirmed to be using Wii MotionPlus, I'm pretty excited for what the sequel holds :D

Technically you could be right. I mean it was hard to get used to the fact that a game that looks worse than a year old port of Doom 3 on regular xbox for one. But I don't think this is the case as I loved Medal of Honor 2 and metroid prime 3.

I played Farcry Vengance soon after Red Steel and I thought it sucked jsut as much if not worse...

if you cant handle red steels controls... you're not a hardcore gamer

Sure, as I mentioned earlier I would recommend Red Steel only after MoH2 ( and MP3, if you count that as FPS) and that's because I think they are better games than RS.

But I got red steel for about 10 bucks and expecting the game to suck horribly and all I can say is it was worth the money and the time. It also gets the benefit of doubt since there arent many FPS games at all on Wii, so if you have played all the others (all 3 or 4 of them) and still itching for some wii shooting there's no harm in giving it a try.

I havent played Farcry so I cant comment on that.

FC: Vengeance is way... way... way... worse than Red Steel. Red Steel was fine. Not stelar, just fine.

I really think that Red Steel is all right (played it quite a lot when my friend bought a wii on launch) looking back it was a solid launch title in 2006, i think the game is better then most people make of it Like others said its not a great game but i think its good compared to other crap that Ubi released on the Wii since then, sequel has a lot of potential if they make controls less frustrating.

I would give it 7.5/10 for being an interesting effort, and a decent launch game.

I still need to buy it, it costs around 7-9 pounds, but i just dont have enough time on my hands.

I thought it was a good game, but it was too all over the place
some levels looked fantastic, particularly the last few, others were box factories and bland corridors,
some levels were really clever and fun to play, such as the "games" level, others were boring or annoying (the bank),
voice acting ranged from laughably bad to regular bad
personally I thought the controls were great, never had a magnum seemed more useful, granted Medal of honor's controls really upstaged it, but they are still leagues better than dual analog,
the story was idiotic, but it had a few good parts once again the games stood out.
the sword fighting was either too easy or really annoying, except the one fight with the head ninja,
personally I'm really looking forward to the sequel, with a less annoying cast, less, fixed, or no swordfighting, and a more consistent design it could be a real winner

I borrowed the game from a friend and hated it. The controls were just SO bad...
